Same or similar as back in the day. Some use private servers and some have automated stuff to grab new stuff to automatically, populate their self hosted streaming server with it to have their own curated netflix with any shows and movies from any source they desire and none of the filler.

Burn only the ac units. Would solve the problem and be a help in reducing energy emissions.

Eu is starting to talk about this too now. Where are we all gonna vpn to if the entire world has their own version of locked internet gates?

Sweden is generally against tax revenue going to the eu institution instead of the member countries themselves. The former is seen as a step toward eu federalization which sweden oppose. They are not against the tax itself.

Is it something they inherently do? No. Is it something they can do?, Of course. Just like anyone evolve over time. Especially when you're into something just to be edgy.

The downgrade to digital projectors is what killed cinemas for me. It's just a stuttering blurry mess with a poorly calibrated speaker setup to match.

I'd like to like the cinema but they removed the magic and left the 8$ small popcorn in It's place.

It's almost as if linux users are a group of many individuals with different reasonings behind their vastly different goals and priorities and not one homogenous group. Who would have thought?

Why do average users need to use linux. Let them stay in windows if that's where they are happy. Making linux into a system just as shitty as windows will just replace shit with different shit.

Why does it need to be dumbed down for the average joe?

Why does guis need to be designed for the person not using it? Why not design them for the people using it now and improve them for the actual users of the software instead of the persons NOT using the software?

Thats a stupid idea and that very line of thought is the brainrot that has led to the enshittification of so much the last couple of decades.

They released the second season of the animesation for the Astrid Lindgren saga Ronja the Robbers daughter rather recently afaik. So they are doing stuff besides the movies.

Center channel downmix boost or something is the name. Iirc the phenomenon with quiet dialogue is due to most streaming content being delivered with surround audio. The shitty cheap video players used by the streaming services will do a cheap flat downmix to stereo which results in the center channel being too low when split into two mono channels for playback on stereo speakers compared to if it would be played on a dedicated center speaker. This is due to maths or something.

Back in the day dvd and even vhs movies had proper stereo mixes where the center channel would be boosted to audible levels.

Tl;dr: just pirate shit and use a proper video player instead of the cheapass players used by netflix, disney, etc.

Small thing but I'd love some metadata about the comment or post when I'm replying. Things like the time it was posted, username and maybe even subreddit with the instance. The full thread for nested comments would maybe be nice but maybe the ui for scrolling through that would be messy.
