Dude must have some fucking wild stories to tell from his WWE days, during peak Vince. Probably all cringe af but undoubtably entertaining.

Stop letting individuals own things. Private property was a mistake.

Christ, if GW was alive today he would be so insufferable.

(but with the working class effectively neutered then)

It took decades to properly neuter the working class. I might argue that labor militarism wasn't really put in the ground until Clinton. I've definitely seen a few folks around here posit that the end of the USSR was the real death blow of domestic labor agitation, entirely because there was no countervailing global force. Although I'm more inclined towards the theory that the Volcker Shock of the 70s was what laid all the union efforts low.

But its always worth mentioning how, even into the '08 crash, life in the US was relatively fat and happy compared to our global peers. Its only in the aftermath of the Great Recession that you can say quality of living in the US has taken a solid step backwards. And then COVID was another big step back. And now we're just waiting for the next shoe to drop.

Hard to be a labor militant when going along to get along is nice enough. Less hard as living standards grow more and more dire.

I don't think there's that many casualties on the Israel side that they'd be anywhere close to running low on manpower.

The western reporting on Israeli losses has been incredibly conservative, not unlike their coverage of Ukraine in its war with Russia. The 250-odd casualties they're reporting right now seems... very low, particularly given how jittery the IDF has behaved and how many friendly fire events I've heard reported. 20 Lieutenant Major Generals blowing themselves up in a controlled demolition in one incident would suggest maybe the head count is higher than that.

But even if you take this all at face value, you're in a country that is functionally surrounded by increasingly hostile Arab populations and launching a war of aggression with an inexperienced and ill-trained force into hostile territory while also getting into shooting matches with neighbors to their north and west AND dealing with another round of domestic fighting in the West Bank. That's putting a big strain on human resources, even if they're not losing anybody to so much as a twisted ankle over four months of active combat.

Imagine spending your entire young life being told that this is the perfect ideal TradWife CottageCore RETVRN moment and you're going to repopulate the White Race with this guy on your arm. And then this is what's waiting for you at the altar.

Abolish Modernity! Rise up, trophy wives of Salt Lake! Reject your nerd overlords, throw down your false idols, seize destiny by its stupid mobile online battery cord, and find liberation!

I wouldn't even say "capitalism" straight up. A lot of this shit is the result of capitalism at least in so far as these are all WW2 veterans who got the Settler Colonial bump from a plundered American continent and a decimated European rival market.

This was a singular moment in time, during which American Fascism delivered the goods for its popular loyalist base. What changed was that the Fascists at the top of the system did what Fascists always do and began eating their own seed corn rather than share with subsequent generations. The empire turned inward, crushed the popular social democrats of the 50s/60s/70s, and consolidated their gains within the robbery barony strongholds of the modern finance system.

If you want this moment back, you need to... well... you-are-a-serf

That means either doing a Socialism or a Barbarism. And we know what @creation247 thinks the answer is, but I doubt many folks in his audience are going to be excited about serving as cannon fodder in his next Glorious White Nationalist War. No more than the poor bastards shoved up into the front lines of the Russia-Ukraine war appear to be enjoying themselves, anyway.

Edit: Can I just say that Twitter, in its current incarnation, is slow and jenky af? Nothing fucking works on this website anymore.

I mean, it was very nakedly a metaphor for the Civil Rights movement of the 60s. X-men didn't get particularly gay until the 90s/00s.

The Dangerous Class: The Concept of the Lumpenproletariat

Marx and Engels' concept of the "lumpenproletariat," or underclass (an anglicized, politically neutral term), appears in The Communist Manifesto and other writings. It refers to "the dangerous class, the social scum, that passively rotting mass thrown off by the lowest layers of old society," whose lowly status made its residents potential tools of the capitalists against the working class. Surprisingly, no one has made a substantial study of the lumpenproletariat in Marxist thought until now. Clyde Barrow argues that recent discussions about the downward spiral of the American white working class ("its main problem is that it is not working") have reactivated the concept of the lumpenproletariat, despite long held belief that it is a term so ill-defined as not to be theoretical. Using techniques from etymology, lexicology, and translation, Barrow brings analytical coherence to the concept of the lumpenproletariat, revealing it to be an inherent component of Marx and Engels' analysis of the historical origins of capitalism. However, a proletariat that is destined to decay into an underclass may pose insurmountable obstacles to a theory of revolutionary agency in post-industrial capitalism. Barrow thus updates historical discussions of the lumpenproletariat in the context of contemporary American politics and suggests that all post-industrial capitalist societies now confront the choice between communism and dystopia.

How has the job market NOT CHANGED AT ALL since 2008?

Its changed substantially. Boomers back in 2008 were still in their 50s/60s and not yet fully retired. Now they're in they're in their 70s and have existed the labor market in droves. We had a glut of college students entering the labor market in 2008 with very little room to negotiate. Now college enrollment has dipped under the 2006 level and the youth population is drying up because people can't afford to have kids.

Porky doesn't want to hire because shit cost money, but their payrolls have been thinning substantively while cost of living has skyrocketed. A lot of this AI nonsense is about promising people they can get Software As A Service to fill the yawning gaps in labor supply. That's also giving union groups significant new leverage. And as American industrialists struggle to insource manufacturing jobs (because oops! those are important for an urban economy!) they're discovering a far more militant labor base than what they expected after 40 years of union busting.

Why was I even born? There's literally no purpose to my life.

rat-salute

Motherfucker, you gotta recognize where you are, and then you gotta get passed that. You gotta be unemotional. You can't sink into this hole. You live in the oubliette. Your job is to crawl up the ladder, motherfucker. You live in the HOLE. You're in the HOLE. You are a RAT. And the rat, when he's in the hole gets fucked. People only throw trash in the hole.

You need to eat a body. And you need to carry the plague. And you need to carry a plague around this whole world, that will change this whole fuckin world. And all your enemies will vomit black bile and will choke on blood and will grow boils and die. But only if you get together with your other RATS. And you come up with some kind of super plague, to fuckin end your enemies and...

End. This. Nightmare.

I've seen photos of 50+ folks walking around with rifles. And Israelis who signed up for doing ketamine on the beach with a mail-order Russian wife haven't exactly been shy about skipping town since this kicked off.

Very possible that they'll be press ganging folks before too long, if they haven't started already.

John Locke may have been a slave profiteer, a feudalist, and an insufferable nerd, but he was absolutely right about that whole "consent of the governed" thing.

Really hard to run a country when the trappings of authority fall away and your own cabinet refuses to listen to you.
