I would happily trade all her agonized waking moments to watch that dumb-ass trip over her own shoes right into the path of an oncoming bus. She's made a profession out of her rancid bigotry and there's no doubt its poisoned her soul. But she's still out there, spewing that poison on everyone else.

For people like this, I can think of only one just punishment. pika-pickaxe

I hope this is just preparation for a victory lap

Nothing about this shit-show deserves a victory lap. It was the bloodiest and most pointless mass immolation of life and livelihood since Iraq. At the absolute best, Russians get to claim a charnel house littered with depleted uranium. More likely, they'll be doing anti-insurgency across the country for decades, while the rest of Europe grows increasingly fascist and racist towards Slavs.

I'm not sure what he is trying to do here other than to take a piss

All wars are just a prelude to diplomacy. I think Putin is putting out interest now so he looks better on the international stage, before Biden loses the White House and Republicans come to the settlement table ready to kick this under the rug so they can pivot back to China.

The pre-war goals, the most important being NATO neutrality?

NATO gets to come out of this with more money, more members, and a renewed mandate to battle its age-old nemesis. I think NATO general staff might be the ONLY folks coming out of this for the best. Maybe with the exception of the Chinese, who have finally broken through the old Sino-Soviet split and as senior partners to boot.

You'd be a damn fool to believe this will be enforceable without Russian troops sitting within 15km of Kiev for the rest of eternity or something like that.

I don't know how many Ukrainians are left standing to do the next Pickett's Charge into Russian artillery fire. And given how easily Russian artillery has demolished critical infrastructure in and around Kiev, I hardly think they need to be west of Brovary to pose a threat.

The enforcement comes from Russian artillery placements. Donetsk will be at least as secure as Pyongyang.

Oh fuck. It's probably in there somewhere. Check under the grifters subsection, maybe?

👎 Weak. Lame. TikTok-y. Consider this a downvote.

Literally a TV show about interplanetary space empire ruled by an evil wizard, so... very likely it will deviate from reality by leaps and bounds.

Its entertainment. It happens to be entertainment with good politics, but its still just a big dumb show for the hogs. If you want history, read history. If you want politics, go to a fucking meeting full of other people interested in doing politics. If you want a fairy tale about some cool dudes cosplaying as that one Russian guy who successfully led a revolution, then that's fine. Everyone wants a bit of entertainment now and then. But that's what that is.

The meme is just "Yeonmi Park meme". That's it. That's the name of the meme.

Sort of a selection bias at this point. I would presume most Hamas leadership is outside the country because it would be nearly impossible to coordinate and administer any kind of resistance network when your opponent is doing terror bombings and mass executions against any congregation of living people left in Gaza.

Folks left in Palestine managing any kind of sustained action against the encroaching IDF likely have little to no real-time communication structure and certainly no access to diplomatic communication necessary for a senior leadership coordinating with allies in the region. They'll be junior officers at best and simple guerrilla paramilitary most often. Unlike the IDF, I doubt they put much stock in rank or commendation, either. Few insurgent networks have that kind of luxury.

Shouldn't we have serious doubts about the reliability of Israeli intelligence given they didn't see the 10-7 attacks coming

So much of what we know is pure rumor at this point. Its less what they know and more what we think they did or didn't know. Given Netanyahu's proclivities toward standing up Hamas as an organization he's allowed to punch back down, there's still a very real possibility that 10-7 was deliberately ignored as a means of kicking off the Gaza Genocide. Sort of like how 9-11 became the vector for the Bush Administration to throw the US military into Iraq.

So I think it is very possible that Palestinians have well-respected diplomats and ambassadors acting abroad in hopes of serving the interests of those back home. And it is also possible that Israeli intelligence turned a deliberate blind eye to insurgents in the run up to October 7th, because they saw a break-out as a justification for policies Yoav Gallant already intended to execute.

The Israel-Hamas war is a war by Israel against anyone they label as Hamas.

Its sort of like the US War on Terror, in so far as I can point and scream "Terrorist" and then everything in that direction needs to die.

That's more the method than the end goal. Juche is about economic independence. Decoupling yourself from below-cost-of-production imports and waste-exports that an imperial state uses to enrich the core at the expense of the periphery. Command economies and socialist dictatorship of the proletariat can get you there. And one might even argue they're the only economic model that can get you there. But they still need to be pointed in that direction.

A communist economy in South American Country X that harvests lumber from the Amazon in Neighboring Country Y and fills in denuded landscape with landfills of waste generated by the consumption of the lumber isn't self-sufficient, even if its leaders are democratically decided and its capital democratically owned and operated.

Chevy is going to release an EV that's got Mickey Mouse decals on the doors standard, and Tesla is going to go bankrupt the next week.
