My ankle flexibility makes it impossible for me. So my career path is fixed I guess.

Fair points, cheers.

You're not really selling it for me, which I guess is the point aye? 😂

What I imagine as ideal is an open-source and transparent bank and payment system that issues its own currency backed by ties to its investment portfolio that is properly regulated by its host country. i.e. you would use their currency to trade among others on the platform according to the percentage value of their portfolio that you own as measured by the currency to which you which to convert your holdings for a given purchase. You could select different tiers of risk if you'd like your "savings" to grow in value over time but experience potential dips or even loss of value if there is major market stability.

I am not an expert on such things, but this at least has real links to tangible asset worth, and isn't based on the artificial scarcity of an increasingly unsolvable math problem.

Banks or governments as opposed to who though? There's a reason we usually want those publicly owned and regulated institutions to handle our transactions. Obviously, it depends what country you live in, and what currency you're talking about. But I don't think Bitcoin or any other cryptocurrency actually solves the problem it purports to.

Why use them and not.. normal fiat currency?

What a vague definition that totally misses the specifics that matter. There's an overwhelming variety of food additives.

Do you know where they eat some of the most processed food in the world? Japan. Some of the highest life expectancy in the world.

What are they doing differently? Without knowing what exactly the commonalities are, there is no value to this study.

Correct. You must be the rogue.

Utterly absurd, and yet we know this with far more certainty than the most well subscribed religions know anything. There are so laughably unimaginative too compared to this reality. And yet, the knowing is also a burden. 😅

This shit gives me existential dread and hope.

Like the complexity of cells might as well be an alien civilization, but all that somehow results in something that it's like to be me. That's so fundamentally mysterious, all I can do is conclude that consciousness has to be the prior of the universe. So on the one hand I'm nothing, and on the other, maybe I'm immortal. I won't know until I'm dead.

New Zealand.

We're currently enjoying a right wing government with a few Trump inspired figures, skyrocketing cost of living, rising crime, and very disconcerting xenophobic and quasi racist musings coming out of certain public figures. But blissfully and blessedly we're a long way away from the chaos your brothers and sisters are going through now and the hell that may be soon to come.

The fear is the global world order falling apart may not be long in following.

I'm not clever enough to do anything but let the meme speak for itself.

Someone glorious on Lemmy made this for me a while back, and it seems to be becoming more and more apt. Enjoy.

Among other talents! 🍺 (sauce)
