Even Apple has to abide by the laws of physics. 3nm is fast, but a small, tightly packed, passively cooled device containing a large, heat generating element powered by a another large, heat generating element is unlikely to outperform a well ventilated, actively cooled device that is able to draw power from an outlet.

This is of couse ignoring the Apple reality distortion field, which in recent memory has succesfully perpetuated the idea that a tiny photo sensor can outperform a large one.

The DRM was added right as the game’s 72-hour early access period started, which is included as part of Lies of P‘s Deluxe Edition.

The actual work done to integrate Denuvo was far before release, of course, but it feels a bit sneaky to disclose the DRM as late as possible. I wonder if this is how it's disclosed for other games as well.

I don't quite understand the appeal of smart watches besides fitness tracking. Is it so you can see notifications on your wrist without having to take yoru phone out of your pocket?

So, modest but capable hardware, and accessible pricing, enabled by scale and software sales. The modern handheld market might have had its roots in the revival of pocket PCs, but it's by far at its strongest when it's most console-like.

This is "the point" from the article, which is that we expect a portable handheld to provide an experience like a console portable handheld would, rather than a PC in a small form factor. My two cents is that I've found the Steam Deck's "sleep" function to be very much like a console's, and it's not something that Windows does very well.

Sometimes, gaming headsets introduce a specific sound signature (similar to EQ but hardware) so that certain frequencies are louder. For FPS it could be advantageous to hear footsteps, for example.

Epos make a couple of USB DAC/AMPs too, and the GSX 1000 is apparently reasonably well received. Haven't used one personally but it shows up on my Amazon recommendations occasionally.

I reject your reality and substitute my own!

Or perhaps they do know what it is.

Someone at Mediatek thought so too, they have the Dimensity 9000.

Monster Hunter. It is so relaxing to play and has so much environmental atmosphere.

If I could only get everyone who works on the thing I work on to use a whitespace visualizer, it would be enough. We can fight about tabs or spaces after we get rid of all the unnecessary trailing ones.
