There's a great book "The Mathematician's Lament" that talks about how math teaching is almost guaranteed to make people hate it, but it's maybe not a conspiracy. Or is it!?

Can't wait for the chubbyemu video to explain the science of what happens here

Gotcha, your issue is it straight up says "raise taxes for white neighborhoods" without the needed context of "current tax law has advantaged predominantly white areas, and so this bringing their tax responsibility to a value that more fairly represents their usage"

I 100% agree with prices having bloated over the last decade. The first card I bought was a 380 for $80, but $700 for a mid-low tier card is an extreme exaggeration

Cool, so instead of a sim rig I can just use my car and a projector

For games with any sort of "victory points" system, I always start off teaching them with the exact same sentence: "the goal of this game is to score points." Sets the stage nicely for explaining the rest of the-- ah, nevermind, they've already glazed over

Yeah, I played the demo a few months ago and went ahead and purchased it, it seems right up my alley for the swarm survival genre. I like that how broken your build gets depends less on how many times you click level up, though it certainly helps. It reminds me of wand building from Noita.

Gummi ships swarm survival sounds pretty neat

I don't think this will really amount to much. Where else are they going to shop that abuses labor as much as Walmart to keep prices low?

I played through what was available a couple months ago with some friends. Very inspired by Terraria with a different npc/colony system. We didn't really dive into it too much which is maybe missing out on a huge part of the game, so if anybody wants to try it I'd suggest going out of your way to interact with it. There were some balance issues imo, but overall pretty fun.

If you don't want to engage with the colony part, I think you won't get anything out of this that you wouldn't get from Terraria, but less since it's a newer game.
