That would make sense. Explains all these tough-guy keyboard warriors calling everybody cowards while also not doing anything about it themselves...

I don't know why you're being downvoted. People really can't handle uncomfortable truths. They've never seen war, don't know what it's like. It probably hasn't clicked for them yet that they don't get to respawn when they die. They don't understand the unfathomable amount of pain that comes with getting shot. They don't comprehend how irrevocable any act of violence is, or the responsibility that comes with permanently altering the course of history.

I mean sure, something needs to be done, but these people don't stand a chance against a militarized police force with modern equipment and a virtually unlimited budget.

They don't understand the level of coordination it would take, the organization and the discipline required. The manpower, the combat experience, the heavy equipment. Small arms wouldn't cut it. They're not prepared. They don't understand what sort of preparation that sort of thing would require.

These are the same idiots who were saying before the election, "it's better if trump wins because it will hasten the revolution." Damn fools, there is no revolution. Not one that can succeed. The time to stop this was on election day, and we failed, because idiots like these thought call of duty was real life.

And then they downvote you for telling them war isn't pretty. Pathetic.

You talk really tough for someone who hasn't done anything about it. If you have, it surely would have caught some headlines, and you probably wouldn't be alive to post about it. We'd probably all be commenting on a video of you getting taken out by 20x as many cops. And if you were in a crowd of people, likely many would be taken out with you.

So if you do decide to put your money where your mouth is, just be sure to do it far away from peaceful protestors and any bystanders.

Until then, stop calling people cowards, you coward.

I thought you said you're a black panther. Are you telling me there's less than ten of you?

We can all say "Well I would take action, but everyone else is being a coward so I don't have enough comrades." So why are you being smug about other people not doing enough, when you haven't done anything yet either and you even claim to already be a member of an armed group?

Like, don't wait til you recruit 10 million people. Set the example with one successful operation, it'll make headlines and then people will join your movement. Nobody's gonna join some wannabe upstart without a plan, there's already plenty of those...

And how do you plan to do that? This cancer is metastatic.

That's only correct if it's labeled as "purified water." If it says "spring water," then it came from a mountain spring.

The thing about being bottled at the source, is that it's upstream from all the "bear piss."

I was bullshitting myself when I told myself I had a chance to make a difference in the world, make it a better place and live a life worth living.

You're right, I didn't realize it at the time. I truly believed that at the time...

[–] wonderingwanderer@sopuli.xyz 1 points 5 days ago (2 children)

That's fine, we don't have to disagree in order to have a conversation

[–] wonderingwanderer@sopuli.xyz 1 points 5 days ago (8 children)

Eh, close enough but thanks for the correction.

Luigi was a lone wolf. How many lone wolves would it take to dismantle the military-industrial complex and the police state?

Cause that's what it would take to topple the current structures of power. And then the real work begins of building something new. How would right and left agree on what kind of system replaces this one?

Not replacing it with anything isn't an option, unless you want the world to be run by crime syndicates. Someone needs to keep the underbelly controlled, or else the underbelly will keep you controlled.

Contrary to what most americans would like to believe the problem isn't so simple that throwing guns at it will solve everything. It's never that simple.

I agree with you completely and I've been calling it out for years. People treated me like I was a crackpot for saying things like "infinite pursuit of growth is neither possible nor desirable." Or "life isn't a zero-sum game and a system that's built to uplift everyone is better than a system designed to maximize gains for a few."

Clearly there aren't many leftists around me, or at least the ones who are hate me for different reasons. Maybe because I said MLs are authoritarians and no better than maga. I like democracy, it's capitalism that needs to go. The Nordic model seemed to work just fine until right-wing propagandists invaded Scandinavia.

Oh, I also compared capitalists to cancerous growths, and that made the oligarchs feel so oppressed. Maybe that's why billionaires these days are comparing themselves to holocaust victims. Those poor billionaires... won't anyone think of the shareholders?

I'm not willing to be anyone's punching bag anymore. No thanks.

I appreciate your effort to engage genuinely and in good faith, rather than smugly and dismissively. I really mean that. But I'm a lost cause, and I've done a lot of work to accept that. I'm not going to regress now by convincing myself that I have any hope for a better future.

Literally my last round of therapy wasn't even about overcoming internal social blocks anymore. It was about learning to accept my present situation, reframing "isolation" as "solitude" or whatever cope it takes for me to not wind up back in the hospital again...

Are you forgetting that it goes "a well-ordered militia..."

A bunch of scattered people with their own firearms is not the same thing as a well-ordered militia. Winning wars requires organization as much as it requires logistics and personnel.

The left is so rife with infighting that they'll never unite enough to organize militarily behind a common cause. Can you imagine a bunch of wannabe anarchists trying to form a chain of command? It almost seems worthy of a comic.

And the armed right actively support this fascist regime, so they won't be much help either.

Yeah, some militia. Really instills confidence and makes one want to go fight and die beside one's comrades /s
