But the comment in the middle doesn't imply that they wouldn't have been hired without DEI. It only implies that if you ignore the second half of the sentence, like the .ml poster did.

I can see how it's worded a little awkwardly, but the part after the word hired is not a separate piece.

It's not meaning "beacuse she didn't get the job" it's meaning "because the reason she got the job was not for DEI reasons".

Holy reading comprehension Batman! What a strech to misinterpret things so hard to find something to be offended about.

Edit: I mean the .ml poster in the screenshot. Just cut off half the sentece to make it say something completely different, then get offended at the sentence that didn't actually exist without ignoring the back half. It's some gold medal gymnastics there.

Weren't they looking into roboticizing their warehouses so they would only need truck loaders/unloaders and packers? Or did that fizzle out?

If they still have that option, then they still have a lot of runway to burn out potential workers before they run out, unfortunately.

Meanwhile I'm here laughing in Jerboa. No fancy auto refresh for me.

I'm probably overdue for checking out other lemmy apps.

Lol, that has nothing to do with the constant psyops run on it. Those have been present since well before the sale. The site allows anyone to post anonymously. It's the perfect grounds for manufacturing the appearance of consensus.

Stroking ensures they don't drive off the "unreasonable asshole" section of potential customer base, and line must go up no matter what.

On top of this, it sounds like he didn't offer seats on the private jet to any of you guys either? That's beyond simply evilly out of touch and into the realm of "are we actually friends if you're willfully taking separate transportation to avoid spending time with the rest of us?"

I could at least comprehend if he wanted to have 4 extra hours with you all at the destination, but if he's just going to spend the time savings alone that is a massive dick move on top of the already massive dick move.

This is specifically not a commuter flight. OP mentions "the jet" as in this guy has or charters a private jet.

I used to do plenty of pixel art in MS Paint on Windows XP when I was young. Zoom in as far as it'll go, and the pencil tool works pixel by pixel. Just need a steady hand. You could even use the eyedropper tool, some modifier key I've forgotten, and the eraser tool to replace one color in the image with another if you were editing existing sprites.

So many silly recolor "OC"s. So. Many.

I just feel the need to point out that there are complete nointro and redump sets on archive.org distributed in nested zip files (any modern emulator supports unzipping by one level). You can browse through the files and download them individually if you have a (free) login to archive.org. They also have torrents. I would imagine that those are what most of the "advanced" users would use instead of direct download sites like vimm's lair etc. It might be a good idea to address that in the rentry page, because as far as I understood things, direct download sites have been dogwater for ages. I've been using archive.org for over a decade for ROMs, so listing benefits compared to that would be good.

Another great resource, for emulation software, is 4chan's Emulation General Thread's wiki.

That said, I'm still going to support this project if I can.

Archive.org's continued existence seems to be in minor jeapordy lately. Their torrent functionality is also not 100% reliable, with some torrent contents not consistently matching the direct download content (a few individual roms being corrupt through the torrent but fine as direct dl). Plus I have never been able to get the direct download as a web source when there are ni seeders thing to actually work in any torrenting client.

It would be good and useful to have a group of seedboxes seeding the latest fullsets, and a group of people to ensure the magnet links get distributed far and wide.

On top of that, there's a pretty big gap right now for retro PC game archival, as well as romhacks/patches and PC game compatibility patches.
