This isn't the gotcha you think it is. At my workplace I know of at least two members of "the C suite" that are easily physically in the office 60 hours a week. Which only makes it harder to push back against the RTO, because they legitimately love being in the office and see no downsides.

Simple: you get banned from the specific instance where you're violating the rule, like OP did.
It sucks, but this is literally how it's supposed to work. They can participate everywhere except where they are violating the rules.
Realistically, all instances should probably be restricting access to 18+ so they don't need to navigate the mess of US's COPPA (I think that's the name) laws regarding retention of minors' data. I'm sure other jurisdictions have laws around that as wellm
And a free tip from someone a decade and a half past the 18 line: Don't let people know how old you are online if you're underaged. It's just asking for trouble. We all lied about it when we were in your shoes. The ones who didn't had to deal with creeps.

I think the whole leading with your pronouns or having them clearly visible online thing is just a shortcut so it doesn't take as much time to figure out if the person getting it wrong is making a mistake, or if they're an asshole.

I was going to say that it's not nearly as much of a problem on lemmy with the lower user count and lack of allocated per-account karma (karma is only per post/comment), but less than a month apart is silly.

It's Stamets. C'mon now. There's a lot more you should recognize their account from than just "reposter". They're a mod of many of the Star Trek based communities and one of the most active posters on Lemmy. Seems to be a stand up person but can let their righteous fury get the better of them at times.
Lemmy is small enough that the community can legitimately self manage this sort of stuff, and we probably need the content anyway. Downvote. Block if you feel the need to. Lemmy is small enough that curating via blocking users is still very effective.
Lemmy doesn't seem to be in any danger of growing influencers yet, and again: karma isn't a thing that collects on accounts like it does on reddit. Karma farming isn't possible here.
To put this as simply as possible: people are allowed to dislike things you find value in, for any or no reason. Whether you consider their reasoning valid or not doesn't matter.
They are allowed to think that it doesn't have value. It doesn't have to effect the value you find in it.
I find artistic and comedic value in youtube poops. I'm not going to sit and argue that they are high art or something that needs or deserves to be respected by the wider world. I'm not going to be offended if others find them dumb, childish, or whatever else. I enjoy them and I respect the effort put into them. That's enough.
And about Skibidi Toilet in particular, it bugs me that we have something like 16 years of machinima, content created with Garrys Mod, and content created in the source engine, and what seems to be making the most money and public awareness (outside of RoosterTeeth) is something that started as meme of a song with a singing head emerging from a toilet. There's so much other content made using the same tools (and that was made with less tools) that deserved more than what they got when compared to this.
For new people, please note that lemmy.ml is also a marxist-leninist instance (hence the "ml") and tends to be the home of some more abrasive users of lemmy. Unless you're into that philosophy I'd reccomend only using it for dev discussion and info on the main Lemmy "project".
Otherwise you're liable to get shit on for uttering more "mainstream leftist" views because their userbase doesn't think you're left enough. That makes it sound worse than it is, but there are some users who have given up on Lemmy because of dogpiling by ml users.

Which is intensely frustrating for people who actually care about free speech. Can't talk about it without setting off everyone's "that guy is probably a nazi" alarms.
It's absolutely an intentional trap to attempt to get people to support moves against free speech by tainting the concept through negative association.
We shouldn't tolerate hate speech. But I'm concerned about where we end up in a few decades if the concept of free speech keeps the current connotations.

Meanwhile we have people unironically using phrases like unalive and censoring swear words in screenshots so they don't trip the automated content filters on mainstream social media. Sonic lore is hilariously messy. It gets absolute batshit when you start getting into the Archie comics. There's more than enough to keep going forever, but at some point you need to address your own brain oozing out your ears and stop.
There's some minor stuff I left out, like how Mecha Sonic (Game Gear) is often called Silver Sonic to differentiate it from Mecha Sonic (Mega Drive/Genesis) when talking about the games, but Mecha Sonic (Mega Drive/Genesis) is canonically named Silver Sonic in the Archie Comics. Both of those are different from Silver the Hedgehog, who is from the future that alternate dimension Nega Eggman (mentioned in the other comment) is from.
And seriously, the Archie comics timeline is insane. This is from the "Metal Sonic Series (Archie Comics)" page on the Sonic Wiki, and it's notably not the only robot doppelgangers-of-characters "team".
Like how do you even start with that? First Robotnik War? Metal Sonic v3.0 is separate from the other versions, but spoiler: he isn't the same 3.0 from Sonic Rivals 2. Mecha Sonic is a separate entity from Silver Sonic?

People tend to think of the old Star Wars Extended Universe as the classic over-detailed lore, but the Sonic Archie comics are way way up there too. It was the longest running monthly comic book series to never be relauched, with roughly 512 total issues if you count the spinoffs.
Cybershell is an old Something Awful goon who's made plenty of Sonic videos, but I think his Archie Sonic retrospective/postmortem is an entertaining overview, if heavy on using the word retarded. Was totally aping some of his attitude for that shitpost of a comment.
