Depends on how deep you want to get into it on your end, and how deeply you need the brokerage you choose to work with to only use libre.

The simplest option is to just use any modern group like Shwab, Robin Hood, Vanguard, etc that has a website for managing your investments. Libre browser covers browsing to research stocks, stock ticker/tracker sites, and the actual site for managing your investments. Might also need a libre PDF reader for some documents too. But if you can browse the web you should have enough to manage.

If you want things deeper than that, good fucking luck. That's just not how software for financial corps is developed unfortunately.

You absolutely can and should regardless.

I would love a Tommy Wiseau attempt at Bond. Holy shit it would be amazing.

Beautiful writeup. I miss the days when games shipped with data files in easily user-acessible formats.

This is 15 years old. It's not about "working", or making a pun.

It's about getting someone momentarily interested in a story, even vaguely invested, or just getting an engaging pace going before suddenly and violently transistioning into a recognizable non-sequiteur.

Extra points for getting a cheesy song stuck in people's heads.

This is all well and good, especially in the far more dire situation of Hong Kong.

I don't think we're quite there yet globally, or at least not in the US. Could be there fucking tomorrow, but not quite yet today.

There are times when open criticism is warranted. I don't agree at all that more tribalism is the true solution to the situation we see at least in the US. We can't just mass execute the people who voted Trump into office.

I don't think most people have trouble keeping their mouth shut when appropriate.

So yeah, don't get in the way of good things happening in imperfect ways. But I swear if I start seeing this shit bandied around as a thought terminating stopper of valid criticism I'm going to blow a gasket.

Not everyone on your side of the political divide is an ally. Not everyone on the other side has to be an enemy. This also applies to the more complex mult-axis political compases.

Would not be the first time, although usually developers then go out of their way to make things more legally distinct.

Off the top of my head, the PS1 game Croc was reportedly originally pitched to Nintendo as a 3D platformer starring Yoshi (it was made by some of the team behind StarFox). They obviously reworked it a ton before it released as what it ended up as.

"Treasure Island but in space" is the elevator pitch.

It's this almost Jules Verne like idea of what space travel might be. Boat inspired spaceships with solar wind catching sails. Very unique setting design IMO.

Definitely a worthwhile spin on it.

My favorite part of this is that with some of the non-movie (and still canon) content it creates a sort of through line of rebellious Jedi to Anakin. Most of this comes from the Clone Wars CG series.

Yoda trained Dooku, who felt that the Jedi had a bigger purpose in protecting freedom and left the Jedi to lead the separatist movement against the Republic until he got manipulated into the dark side by Sidious.

Dooku trained Qui-Gon, who very flagrantly followed his own code within the Jedi but pushing against the edges.

Qui-Gon trained Obi-Wan, who appears very traditional in the movies, but really only when put against Anakin's rebelliousness. He fell in love with a Mandalorian diplomat (during their brief period of pacifism) and says he would have left the order for her, had she but asked. There's also evidence that he knew of Anakin and Padme's relationship far earlier than when everything goes to shit, and just... let it happen to a certain degree.

Through to Anakin, who has elements of all of them including Dooku's feeling that Jedi needed to do more in the galaxy.

It's good enough for corporate (with multiple other lines of defense).

There's also a decent amount of college and independent stations (not IHeartRadio, etc owned) that broadcast online, so location isn't an issue.

I know OP is trying to go for single purpose devices, but RadioDroid on F-Droid is great for listening to internet radio and has a built in station list.

Came like this, they absolutely knew:

Hahahahaha. At least they had the balls to publish and host it themselves.

Love this inversion of the song trope of lamenting the loss of nature. It's a satirical lament of the loss of corporate development.

Lyrics:

Here we stand

Like an Adam and an Eve

Waterfalls

The Garden of Eden

Two fools in love

So beautiful and strong

The birds in the trees

Are smiling upon them

From the age of the dinosaurs

Cars have run on gasoline

Where, where have they gone?

Now, it's nothing but flowers

There was a factory

Now, there are mountains and rivers

You got it, you got it

We caught a rattlesnake

Now, we got something for dinner

We got it, we got it

There was a shopping mall

Now, it's all covered with flowers

You've got it, you've got it

If this is paradise

I wish I had a lawnmower

You've got it, you've got it

Years ago

I was an angry young man

I'd pretend

That I was a billboard

Standing tall

By the side of the road

I fell in love

With a beautiful highway

This used to be real estate

Now, it's only fields and trees

Where, where is the town?

Now, it's nothing but flowers

The highways and cars

Were sacrificed for agriculture

I thought that we'd start over

But I guess I was wrong, hey

Once there were parking lots

Now, it's a peaceful oasis

You got it, you got it

This was a Pizza Hut

Now, it's all covered with daisies

You got it, you got it

I miss the honky tonks

Dairy Queens and Seven-Elevens

You got it, you got it

And as things fell apart

Nobody paid much attention

You got it, you got it

I dream of cherry pies

Candy bars and chocolate chip cookies

You got it, you got it

We used to microwave

Now, we just eat nuts and berries

You got it, you got it

This was a discount store

Now, it's turned into a cornfield

You got it, you got it

Don't leave me stranded here

I can't get used to this lifestyle

US Congress proposed bill to allow AI to prescribe drugs and medical treatment

Original post from the Fuck AI community: https://lemmy.world/post/24681591

The fact that this has even been proposed is horrifying on so many fucking levels. Technically it has to be approved by the state invovled and the FDA, but opening this door even a crack is so absurdly out of touch with reality.

What's your favorite pronoun candy?

So I'm coming back to the game after a two year break. I didn't get too deep into the game before, mostly doing low level combat and trading.

I was wondering what resources people more familiar with the game would suggest I check out for getting into some of the other content like mining, exobiology, and exploration. I'd like to take a shot at the basics of the different gameplay loops/styles before I start trying to get into the deeper content like engineering.

Unfortunately a lot of guides I've found seem to focus on maximum optimization before you even try to get into the content. I don't want to do an engineering grind, or grind to get an FC, before I figure out if I even like the type of gameplay it's going to make easier.
