And they're not a voting block to be won.

You're right, I forgor Nazis defining trait is their stupidity. For me being proud of germanic/ Scandinavian stuff (Wolfgang/ Sigurd) would exclude being proud of Roman stuff. Because defying and defeating Rome is an important pillar of the German national mythos.

((Just in defence of the names Wolfgang and Sigurd, they are perfectly normal names when worn by a normal person))

In der Umgangssprache schon, in offiziellen 2 Buchstaben Kürzel nicht. Leider. Im Alltag ist BaWü auch noch eine häufiger genutzte Abkürzung (und bessere, so wie NRW und rlp)

Well Wagner is a surname, so you might associate it with a famous person, whereas Sigurd is just a normal first name.

For me, the Felix takes away the nazi allegations, since it's a Roman name. But you never know.

That's a false fact. And it's apparent, since there are dozens of accents in the US as well as umin the UK and there were dozens in the UK 200 years ago. They all developed in their own direction, being sometimes isolated sometimes cross-pollinating with other accents, but none staid the same.

Just recently, I was in France and all the reactions were just lovely. Everyone replied in French to my French but asked if we should continue in English, when they noticed my understanding was incomplete.

Some cashiers spoke really fast, so I just pretended I understood and nodded. But everyone was very accommodating and repeated sentences if I asked or explained with different words.

Most people even spoke English with my colleagues, who don't speak French, and French with me. Even one waitress, whose English was really at the beginner level, made it work.

And a whole parallel development via sumerian -> cuneiform -> Phoenician -> greek -> latin

And he doesn't even get the bible right. He just uses it as an aesthetic front for his wacky ideas and all the right wing christians eat it up
