Reality check: In some countries you can be a conscious objector to war… at which point they still try to get you into a “civilian” war supporting job.

Voting is not the same as approval. We can vote and still rally against the legitimacy of authority.
Yes the state is corrupt, yes the choice is largely superficial. But if we are going to get poison anyway i prefer to exercise any action i can to influence even a little who does the poisoning.
