I've been a lurker on reddit for over 10 years. Here I feel like I can actually post and comment without worrying about negativity :)
The more I learn about the fediverse the more advantages I see. If something goes wrong it's actually possible to move to another instance.
As a sort of workaround you could create the community on a new account and then add your current account as a mod
This reminded me of when awards actually meant something... now they're just spam
I never thought of how capping sign ups doesn't affect you in the fediverse... you can just sign up on a different instance! Very cool to think that server hosts can stay within their own limitations.

The nice thing is it'll be so much easier to avoid the toxicity wince the fediverse is so flexible
I totally agree. It was stressful trying to pick an instance before I really understood how it worked.
