I believe his excuse was "I don't deserve it", but... Yeah. If they even gave him the choice.

Excellently summarized, thumbs up!

By the way, I'd highly recommend the book Lamb: The Bible according to Biff, by Christopher Moore.

It's a lighthearted and entirely fictional comedy narrating the gospel from Jesus' buddy's perspective, highlighting quite a few fuckups and shenanigans along the way.

Just figured based on your writing that you'd appreciate the humor, I had a good laugh myself.

Upside down crucifixion was considered the "humane" version, since blood would start pooling in the brain and the victim would pass out quick and die with relatively less pain/trauma. If they wanted someone to endure the torture for a prolonged time, e.g. to make a spectacle for onlookers out of it, people would be crucified with their head up.

Yep, it's a great book for sure.

I thought it was just onlyfans spambots doing this crap, hoping you'd stalk a profile.

What's the actual point?

OP seems to be Austrian. I don't think the FTC has anything to say about Austrian laws.

Reporting is one thing, but until this gets resolved, OP still needs food. And being forcefully allowed back in under police protection doesn't help.

Newpipe for me. On desktop I use the plain old website, but with adblock, sponsorblock and all other privacy enabling plugins, and of course on Firefox.

Yep, if there's a third party app available I'll take those instead, or for the likes of spotify I just download my music for offline playback. Not a fan of streaming in general, I'm a big proponent of file ownership. A bit different for youtube videos that I treat as disposable (consume it once and likely never again), but for music and movies, I need to hold on to the files. Even if I got legitimate access through Netflix or Prime, if it's good, I'll download a copy for archiving purposes.

For other apps I'll try to get a FOSS alternative or if that fails (or is butt ugly) I'll go with a small dev on google play instead.

I'm aware of spotify, youtube, and to a lesser extent strava and duolingo.

I don't use either one of them, but people have posted screenshots from all those on social media.

China doesn't even give permanent residency to foreigners

China totally does, if you're either employed for 3+ years with a master's degree and annual salary above 500-800k RMB (depending on the province) or with a bachelor's and 5+ years work experience (same income requirements), OR have a PhD and are employed by a company listed on a Chinese (not HK) stock exchange or a government owned company/entity in a higher R&D function (no income requirements), OR are married to a Chinese and have been working for 7+ years in China (no income or education requirements).

Source: Used to live in China, qualified for 2/3 pathways and my company kept pushing me to accept residency (which I refused to be able to withdraw my social security accounts upon my planned departure).

But I digress.

Due to my Chinese wife I have quite a few touching points with "offshore Chinese" as she calls them, and there are quite a few insane ones among the diaspora. The "glory to China, but I wouldn't ever live there again" types, mostly.

And yeah those wechat hymns and crap from douyin is omnipresent. We avoid those people like the plague, but every once in a while some of them show up to events hosted by saner people and spew their bullshit.

I'm consistently below 30 GB, unless you include local traffic from my fileserver to endpoints (98% movies that I stream locally via. VLC over smb). And even then I usually don't exceed 1 TB.
