So they've added 100 000 people in about 10 years and are now laying off 9000. 4.5%. Corporations are not always great at determining which people should get fired, but it's not a total random choice either.
The layoffs happened just recently, this profit has nothing to do with them. We'll see in the next few quarters what the effect of these layoffs will be.
Being smaller than a phablet in 2010s. Bring back 4 inch phones for fuck's sake. You can price them at the same level as your gigantic six-inchers, I'll happily pay for it as long as the insides of the phone are premium otherwise. I should know that my phone is in my pocket by putting my hands on it, not because it's sticking out or making it impossible to sit down.
A 4" Pixel 9 Micro running GrapheneOS. I'd pay a thousand euros right now if such a thing existed.
But of course they have fucked up the UX of the operating system in such a way that a regular-sized phone like that cannot be practically used anymore. Oh well.

High-tech western military investments in an age of Russian aggression is actually a good thing to do. And it's even European instead of US or Israel.
I see no reason not to fully support this. Sure, a pacifist world would be awesome, but that would require a lot of things to happen that are not realistic at all. The alternative to european defense investments is not peace, it's death and oppression.
