Please seek counseling.

And I know you don’t know me, but if you were to walk past me or my family, you’ll receive no judgment from us. We love you all the same. But please do seek counseling. There are many of us out there who love you.

I have stopped using booking.com and a few other sites like this because of similar issues. The last time I went thru them they have used an incorrect name on the reservation and it took weeks of phone calls to get the hotel to refund the reservation. I was in a position where I either got a refund and rebooked or showed up and was turned away. It sucked. Never again.

I’m at 3 on most days. 4 once a week. 3 plus an injection once a week. I have other pills that are optional.

I’m seeing layoffs of US workers, who are then being replaced by Indian, South American and Ireland nationals… not AI. But they’re calling it AI.

What would qualify as a “high yield” savings account or money market in your book? High yield savings accounts unfortunately adjust to market interest rates.

I know an earworm typically consists of a song, but what is really plaguing me is those laugh tracks people add to reels because my wife watches them 6 hours a day.

My bosses and their decisions.

Same, and when I catch myself doing that, I wonder why I do it, then move on with life and do it again later.

I dunno man. I got nothing. I don't understand it either.

My father and stepmother were full tilt into this quackery. Today they don't talk about it as much, but they do talk about politics an awful lot. I'll let you figure out where they fall on the political spectrum.

I have a friend who is self-employed. He uses an iPhone and a MacBook Air. He only uses iMessage, Numbers, Safari and Apple Music for entertainment. He gets away with 8gb just fine and rarely has to reboot.

He probably could use a Chromebook or something even lighter, but the support and ecosystem were enough for him to pay the premium. His time is valuable to him so it was worth it to him.

OK, hopefully this will actually turn into a megathread... but if you haven't seen it: We're not building a web browser

Let's speculate! What do you think they will reveal on Jan. 30th, 2024?

I'm still trying to de-Google my life, little by little. I don't trust Bing for similar reasons. DDG is feeling shady of late. What's the search engine you all recommend that I can inject into my daily life? Is there perhaps a search engine that is focused on code, or have we just all moved on to AI for searching?

Edit: I meant to also express my frustration that most browsers do not let you select a "default search engine" that can be used in the address bar aside from 3-5 pre-chosen engines. Seems like 2023 we should be able to customize that to our own liking.

Edit 2: Thanks for the recommendation of Kagi. I'm going to roll with it for a while. I see they have an extension for Safari that allows them to hijack the address bar, which is just what I needed.

Running the latest Arc 1.13.1, seems like the battery consumption is a bit better than the prior releases. Anyone else noting better performance/consumption?

I was hoping this community would be more active since Reddit has gone the way of the do-do.
