I just recently finished Death’s End by Cixin Liu.

Thinking back I thought it was kind of funny that the protagonist spends most of her time asleep throughout the history of the universe. That aside, great science fiction and a great end to the trilogy.

My dad is always stunned that I never really got into GoT. I tuned in for a couple of seasons at the beginning, but life just got too busy for these kinds of big shows.

Voyager might be maintained by a single person, but let’s not fool ourselves who created it. Voyager is a direct clone of Christian Selig’s Apollo for Reddit.

I love Voyager as much as the next Lemming, but I’ll be damned if credit isn’t given where credit is due.

 

Apple CEO Tim Cook told CNBC in a statement shared on live television that Apple has no intention to license Masimo's patents. While it seemed likely that was the case, the company hadn't said as much publicly until now.

Since Jan. 1, police say they've charged 32 impaired drivers in Ottawa, an average of two per day.

The federal government says it is providing $121 million for police in Ontario to target gun and gang violence with a particular focus on the surge in auto thefts and carjackings.

 

On Jan. 16, CTV News Ottawa aired a story about a retired Ottawa couple who were scammed into using their line of credit to purchase cryptocurrency through a 'financial advisor'. Two weeks later, a fraudulent rendition of that story, made with deepfake AI, surfaced on Facebook.

Scammers had taken the original cautionary tale and, in a deeply ironic twist, used it in an attempt to dupe more people into falling for investment scams similar to the one that had tricked Doug and Victoria Lloyd.

 

"I stepped up to the counter to pick up my car and they said, 'You're over 74, You can't have a car,'" he said.

What he missed was in the fine print of Routes Car Rentals' Rules and Restrictions page in Travelocity. In the "Merchant Rules" section, it notes an upper age limit of 74 years of age for local renters...

 

Six locations will open by Feb. 1, with three additional outlets expected in Staples within the coming months.

Apple Music Classical was updated today with CarPlay support, which will allow users to access the app from their vehicle's infotainment screen when an iPhone is connected. However, the app does not appear to be functional yet when opened.
