That’s dedication. My original New Leaf town save from back in the day somehow got corrupted during the pandemic, but I love reliving those days seeing others towns.

Thanks for the share!

Now about that broken ankle

This is the one I deal with the most as well, but it’s a lot easier to do in the summer than in the winter. How grocers source their produce will determine the effectiveness of our boycotts.

I just finished up season 3 of The Boys last night. I avoided it for the longest time because of the hyper violence, but the story is slowly growing on me and it’s actually only violent in certain circumstances.

Fable, a startup designing tools to generate animated TV shows from scratch, is launching an AI-powered streaming service this week, Variety reports. The service is called Showrunner, and it will allow subscribers to generate scenes, view content created for Fable's in-house AI-generated animated shows and even insert themselves into the animations they generate.

Per Variety, subscribers will pay anywhere from $10 to $20 month for credits that can be exchanged for the ability to generate new animated scenes.

As always, don't shoot the messenger!

This is slop!

Apparently the “fuck Trudeau” flags and stickers have different effects on men and women.

Also even if he does succeed, he’ll probably never outlive the “Parachute Pierre” nickname for the rest of his career.

[–] veeesix@lemmy.ca 54 points 5 days ago (7 children)

There is another potential problem for Poilievre. Critchley is right. Parachute candidates always face a potential backlash when they drop into ridings because they have lost their own seats. That’s because there is something fundamentally opportunistic and unfair about replacing a successful local candidate with an unsuccessful national one. Does Poilievre care about the riding or, as Critchley believes, is he just using it as the safest way to become an MP before Parliament is recalled?

This is a great point I’m surprised hasn’t been talked about more. Pierre is running on a party-over-country campaign.

It’s not enough that Pierre runs in the safest byelection in the country, the runway has to be bubble wrapped as well.

I think you’re confusing “new” with “original”. I think we can agree that new episodes = new anime.

I was genuinely shocked how the episode ended. RIP Ed

This one seems different in that the barrier for entry is pretty high, plus the actual finished mod is not intended to be played very heavily.

It was created in the 1960s by designer Jim Donoahue and adopted by the federal government in 1982 as its “official symbol of government.”

In one afternoon, according to Thomson, Donoahue designed what is now known as the Canada wordmark. He used Baskerville typeface, which he was fond of, and he thickened it as it was light and delicate and could fade in smaller reproductions. The “D” in “Canada” rose like a flagpole, so it was a perfect place for the flag to “fly off,” said his daughter Zoe Donoahue in an interview, echoing her father’s words.

[…] Donoahue did not receive a cent initially for the work he had done on the wordmark, as it was a byproduct of the advertisement project that had been commissioned, said Thomson. Thomson said the federal government later sent Donoahue a “nice letter” and a cheque for $1 to “formalize ownership.”

“I’m sure that it’s worth a lot more than that, but it was just the way the process happened,” Thomson added. The Treasury Board Secretariat couldn’t confirm that the federal government had issued Donoahue a $1 cheque, nor the exact year when the wordmark was created.

But Donoahue’s daughter, Zoe, recalled her father talking about it. She said he was never bothered by receiving a $1 cheque, and that he even “got a kick out of that. He laughed about it for sure.” She described her father as someone who loved the process and puzzle of design into his 80s and she said the wordmark was one of his greatest prides.

While western Canada starts/continues to burn over the summer this is a pretty good site that animates the smoke patterns of wildfires.

Starting June 2025, the City will start to manage and adjudicate parking ticket infractions through its Administrative Penalty System (APS), transitioning from the existing Provincial Offensive Act (POA) courts. The City’s new APS program will next extend to red light camera and automated speed enforcement infractions.

Kawartha Dairy, known for its Canadian-made ice cream, is opening its first Ottawa location in the city’s west end this summer.

The 600-square-foot drive-through location at 2200 Carling Ave. is near the intersection of Carling and Fairlawn avenues and across the street from Carlingwood Shopping Centre.

“This summer we’re excited to welcome customers to visit us in-store or through the convenience of our (drive-through) to pick up milk, cones and custom-made milkshakes,” the Crowe family, owners of Kawartha Dairy, said in the email.

Anyone else noticing faster battery drain on iPad or iPhone since the update? An hour and a half of content has chewed through over 50% of my battery on my M1 iPad, not to mention the device getting very hot.

I’m thinking about getting a Retroid Pocket Classic but was wondering whether or not I might be able to use the same SD Card I use for my Retroid Pocket 4 Pro. I was hoping I could resume my saves between devices.

Is this is possible?

EDIT: had originally written RP4P. Updated to Retroid Pocket 4 Pro

“Due to changes in U.S. tariff policies, we will be suspending all orders shipping from China to the United States starting today,” writes Anbernic. “We strongly recommend prioritizing products shipped from our U.S. warehouse, which are currently not affected by import duties and can be purchased with confidence.”

Chris Barber and Tamara Lich have been found not guilty of most charges against them for their roles in the 2022 truck convoy protest in Ottawa.

On Thursday at the Ottawa Courthouse, Ontario Court Justice Heather Perkins-McVey found the pair not guilty of four charges apiece relating to intimidation and obstructing police.

They were both found guilty of counselling others to commit mischief. Perkins-McVey also found them both guilty of committing mischief themselves, but that finding was stayed at the request of Crown lawyers.

Barber alone was found guilty of counselling others to disobey a court order. Lich was not charged with this.

All told, Barber was found guilty of two charges, not guilty of four and had a seventh stayed. Lich was found guilty of one, not guilty of four and had a sixth stayed.
