Oh man, I missed this update— I thought the appeals all failed

I the story goes that they’re not getting locked up forever m, and they’re getting out eventually. The option they do is let them out early with supervision with the alternative being being “they’re out, done their sentence, and no one’s watching them”

FWIW, Gemini doesn’t use nvidia chips I think, it’s their own thing— so just destroying the environment

I did a small dive and found an account of an apparent legit case of a litter box in a school, but it was for an option for extended school shooting drills

I'd probably say my first horror movie was the gate -- re-watching the railer, there's bits of it that still echo in my head for some reason

We kind of don’t need to post pictures— our grocery stores have their marked up prices on their website https://www.loblaws.ca/en/search?search-bar=eggs

I think their claim is that bike lanes mean that you’re permanently blocking that parking lane off so you can’t have 2 lanes instead of 1, or forgetting that the second lane is normally parking spaces. I think my favorite bit of all of this is all the videos of bike lanes without stop and go bikes where drivers record and say “no one’s using them!”

basically, the idea behind modern sex education is about empowering children with knowledge about their bodies and boundaries, which is supposed to make it harder for others to exploit and manipulate them

I feel like back in my day we had 40 year mortgages— was that 15 years ago?

It’s probably a cross between not as bad as you think and exactly as bad as it sounds— a bit more about managing expectations and hoping that you can pause during cut scenes

The next bad thing is now I’m apparently also old so I can start falling asleep at 11ish :-/

Personally I apply the pomodoro technique to my gaming and use features like quick resume to play really long games in short intervals

I noticed that kbin.social communities i'm subscribed have broken links in old.lemmy.ca -- not sure if its a config issue or an mlmym issue, but figured i should tell someone

example:

!gaming@kbin.social link on old.lemmy.ca points to https://old.lemmy.ca/m/gaming@kbin.social , https://old.lemmy.ca/c/gaming@kbin.social works fine
