easy to transfer to other countries

Also easy to transfer with IBAN and relatively cheap ... so I guess other countries that do not rely on IBAN?

I was going to get rage-baited into making a "point" about reasoning and how Trump wasn't a "native" American... but I'm resisting the engagement temptation. There is no "logic", it's all about gathering privileges then justifying how to prevent others from doing the same. There is no reasoning, no logic, not even ideology.

Thanks but maybe I'm a bit slow, how does that work?

Say I use mplayer or aplay to play from my local ~/Music/ directory, or even VLC to play from my minidlna server on my RaspberryPi. Say I play a tune named tune.ogg which has metadata saying "Tsunami" by the artist "R3HAB" and it ends. How could my player then pick the next song, from my library or elsewhere, not randomly but rather because it's related somehow to this song?

They all own portions of every company and together they all own over 50% in so many things that they have a controlling vote in a majority of board rooms.

Thanks for the clarification. If you do find the article I'd be curious because if I check the

and others https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_asset_management_firms whereas sovereign wealth funds https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sovereign_wealth_fund#Largest_sovereign_wealth_funds are only up to $2T.

So... if I do roughly the sum of AUM I don't even get to half of $100T. Maybe they have controlling shares (to define here because not sure I understanding correctly, i.e. single seat on board vs majority of seats in order to actual control) somehow in the US with a total valuation under $50T but somehow overall I don't see how. Also together would mean some kind of coordination, which I'm not saying is impossible but beside generating more money I'm not sure they have a "goal" that would imply using said control.

The 3 of them own almost everything

Do they though? They do own a lot but sovereign wealth funds do too plus, unlike those AFAICT, one can easily switch from say a Vanguard ETF to whatever other investment vehicle they want in an instant. So yes they have tremendous power, too much, and they contribute to shaping markets worldwide... but it's also not their actual money and other economical actors do exist.

So I'd argue "own" and "almost everything" is a big exaggerated.

PS: I'm not an economist so that's just my candid understanding.

It's not a "community" it's a video server. I'm sharing video content I made.

I could open up the federation aspect and letting you and others comment, helping it to scale, but for now I chose not to.

There are PeerTube instances doing that though, i.e. federating, allowing comments from the instance, other instances, also content that is paid for. My instance though again is not like that.

I find it surprising that someone on Lemmy makes assumption about centralization and consequently homogenization. My instance does NOT try to reproduce YouTube yet I believe, I hope at least, does provide again potential "content" to viewers. It's never going to be YouTube but for me that's OK, in fact I would argue, that's better.

Edit: initial comment made no reference to a "community" FWIW.

I did some live streams in the past. I share the link to my instance below. I can't speak for large audiences.

You don't think the link I give helps potential viewers by showing there is content out there?
