If Burton isn’t planning on leaving heavily on the fetish appeal here, what’s the point?

If I were calling about a reference and heard this story related, I’d say to myself “great, so they’re willing to ask probing questions to clarify requirements.”

That could save weeks of work on some projects, and I’m not so desperate for clients that I’d want to work with one who would walk over a simple request for clarification.

Box office is extremely relevant to viewers. A good box office means sequels and imitators, a bad box office means different directors and approaches. Pretending money doesn't affect things wont make capitalism go away.

Gagh, Hugh, you’re eating gagh!

Ya got me. But he did at least try to unload it on Gandalf and Galadriel.

Wesley certainly is annoying for his first couple appearances, but I don’t really think we should hold season 1 against any TNG character. He has good moments later, and The First Duty is a straight up excellent episode.

On the other hand, hobbits aren’t annoying either. They didn’t ask to get roped into all that nonsense. Elves are the annoying ones in LotR.

Honestly impressed with Discovery's restraint in not showing it to us for their last three seasons.

I have an ongoing love of horror that I'm half convinced started with Mr. Boogedy / Bride of Boogedy. I still try and watch them every October.

Beyond that, it's hard to say. There really are so many to choose from.

Ah, so I just missed it. There goes my little theory.

We’ve definitely seen cadets serving on ships a few times, and The Wrath of Khan featured a training voyage (though they didn’t seem to be going to anywhere in particular).

So I agree there’s precedent. I was really just stretching for a way to cheekily suggest the name.

So these kids will be going out in the galaxy on real missions before they’ve even graduated. I love the enterprising spirit that shows.

Say, have they revealed the name of the ship yet?

Agreed. I’ve been enjoying SNW, but it’s been playing it far too safe. Star Trek needs to rock the boat a little!
