Aside from that, it makes sense that it took Signal a while to get the sync feature because Signal ONLY stores messages locally. XMPP stores them on the server. I would expect to be able to access that information from anywhere. What's the point of doing so anyway? Let me at least import the keys so I can unlock those messages. But it seems like you can't.

That is very sad. I'll be migrating out of XMPP. It's intolerable that one cannot recover messages that are still there; or that even moving from one client to another implies you lose all of your history.

Yes, but also, your Taler wallet stores value too, I guess.

In any case, I wonder why Taler has not made it a point that they are (or could) be a payment system for the digital euro.

Could you expand?

It won't be great if non-libre payment systems are still the rule.

I have seen 0 articles relating GNU Taler with the digital Euro, and I am very worried this incredible project will end nowhere. Because the digital Euro is definitely coming and that would be the moment to put Taler to work.

There is a Lemmy version of the same community, I won't link to it just in case, but it's very easy to find.

It's not as active, but if you are going to reddit, make sure you come back and post some info to ours!

Only siths deal in absolutes.

You, and everyone who's ever liked a Marvel movie, should go and watch this one because it's definitely on the good side of MCU movies. It's very refreshing in several ways.

I understand that the MCU has been bad to mediocre after Endgame. There are some things here and there that were good. But when it comes to movies... (I don't count Spider-man nor Deadpool because those are fun meta movies that play a different game) yep, all movies have been cheap cashgrabs... Until we got Thunderbolts.

Do not kill the possibility for you to enjoy a new MCU movie just because.

The day the browser comes back to the Mozilla foundation, you'll realise you don't fucking need Google.

We the community, are waiting for the moment we can invest on our (currently) only chance to truly fuck with Google.

Also, seed to I2P trackers!! It's now possible with qBitTorrent.

What about finally doing something with RCS?? It's been stagnant for YEARS, no audio speed-up, no pinned messages, not possible to separate contacts to useless 2FA SMSs... What about the promised mini-apps? What about opening the API??

What about doing ANY ACTUAL WORK?

I was actually pleaseantly surprised trying this on an old Macbook with Q4OS "distro".

Q4OS is really just a Debian installer for Plasma and/or Trinity. Like, quite literally, it doesn't even bother to change Debian branding, you can just uninstall the 3 or 4 custom welcome packages from Q4OS and that's it.

Yeah, I am talking to you, Endeavour OS devs. Stop rebranding an OS that you just wrote a glorified installer for.

In this federated world, I find myself going back to lemmyverse.net to see if a community already exists, or if there are any duplicates already, etc.

Also, in lemmyverse you can actually search instances themselves, which is quite interesting too. Maybe being able to check out some instance's local communities would be awesome too.
