style errors are easily forgiven. study a foreign language or a programming language to get some empathy

suspending habeas corpus? he should be in so many heaps of trouble. the guillotine was a nasty, evil piece of work, and anyways

you didn't read the whole username. I got fired from being a claquer, which means I can't get paid to clap in 19th century French theatre productions. Gosh!

well that is more Harry Potter information than I previously had, but I'll just move on and pretend to be dumber than I am, which is already pretty bad. when I was kid I gathered an embarassing amount of knowledge on Stephen King novels. I didn't really expect him to be one of the good guys in 2025, but there he is.

agreed that no one goes to that much trouble to carry out an assassination then walks around with the murder weapon. plus i wouldn't trust a plastic homemade gun to begin with, but after it had been fired several times? that's literally trash.

the only mitigating factor I guess could be mental illness. Brian Thompson wasn't exactly an obvious target, as far as evil CEOs go, still seems weird to pick him

jail is where they'd put you to dry out, sober up, hopefully behave yourself. lots of old movies make jail seem comically quaint. I myself have been released from the lockup "on my own recognizance" or some such, basically means they didn't want the expense of keeping me there, plus I agreed in writing to show up for the court date.

prison doesn't have to mean federal time, could be a big scary state prison, but you get there from doing felonies. and the felony could be just weed, like you had a garbage bag full of it and shared it with friends.

if your meme is topical to current events, it helps to post a reference

was it this one? https://www.cnn.com/us/idaho-student-killings-timeline/index.html

no that was 2022, this is bleak and fucked. I don't want to sift through stories about kids getting killed.

i'm pro Luigi but if the whole thing is a setup they really should have picked a less photogenic character. that man is incapable of not looking like a boss.

I like the comparison of Harry Potter to Lord of the Rings that points out Harry Potter was a very special, perhaps ethnically special boy, who deserved his powers because he was naturally good, while Frodo Baggins was a dude who got saddled with an absurd level of responsibility, which he never could have handled without a long list of friends and randos who found it amusing to help him.

kinda low on the list of bad guys. the whole Kennedy family though? JFK's dad lobotomized his own daughter because she was problematic. deeply evil clan, that one.

background: staying in a roadside motel in the US. Man and Woman in the next room are screaming at each other. 1:30 in the morning. Not my problem.

But I did get voyeuristic and plant my ear on the wall. Most I could comprehend was "your daughter, but what about MY daughter?" from the woman. That's what I thought I heard.

I was like, if I am certain I can tell that someone is beating on someone, and trying to kill them, or you know just violence is happening, then I'll call 911. but I was far from certain. all i could discern was crying and screaming.

Hour later, someone is pounding on my door. is it someone in distress? I am in the least accessible and least desirable room in the place. It's probably one of those two neighbors, but which one?

Anyways, I'm in the US, so I have one or more guns, but I don't keep them loaded or accessible. by the time I had something ready, I think the neighbors were about to pass out. they currently are quiet after hours of screaming.

So I'm not a fan of cops, but not entirely against them. Situations in which I did call the cops:

-Neighbors were screaming at each other, 3 a.m.; their 6-year-old girl was out in the street crying.

-I heard broken glass and looked out the window, and saw a pair of big man's boots going into what I thought was a single woman's apartment.
