I suppose. But with no insulation the A/C has to work nonstop to keep the temperature at say, 78°F. You can start it off when it’s cool in the morning but by the time the real heat comes around the A/C is choking, unable to make any progress at actually cooling the space.

I’ve never understood this—why in an area with constant power outages and energy usage problems would this be the norm? It’s the same thing with dishwashers—we’re all still washing dishes by hand and wasting crazy amounts of water.

(Sorry, I could rant about this all day. Tired of living in the “tech” state where emergency vehicles can’t even change the traffic lights for themselves.)

You shouldn’t be. Ideally we’d have central air/heating or a heat pump. These window units I see cranking everywhere are absolute garbage for the environment.

I’m not sure why you’re downvoted. You perfectly described the 1960s-era shit box (barely insulated with three window air conditioners) I pay over $2,000 per month to live in in Los Angeles.

Yeah. I’ve been pretty burned out lately but when I saw it on Citizen I was kind of proud to be living here.

Because China is going to everyone else and saying “look how insane the Americans are, let’s make deals without them” and largely benefiting other countries.

Does that really just happen to people? Never in my life have I encountered my car with a random-ass cat sleeping on it.

I love the random railing in the audience behind where Elon was jumping.

It's disgusting it needs to be done

This is what makes it feel cursed (at least to me).

Storj Tardigrade with client-side encryption. I use rclone so you could even encrypt it before hitting the Storj library if you’re extra paranoid (among other things like caching, chunking, etc).

Yeah seriously, the entire concept is fucking cursed. I keep thinking maybe this is a sick joke.

It’s the same for me but it’s my two chihuahuas. I work from home and they’re always by my side: we go on walks together, and I give them lots of attention throughout the day. Hell, I spend more time with them than I do my wife (who works 30 mi away)! They understand me and I understand them.
