That seems to be the consensus but what keeps me from picking it up quickly is it always looks very low-level (I’ve been in Ruby land for far too long 😆)

I’ve looked at Piefed and I kind of actually wish it were compiled. I come from the Ruby on Rails world and while I love Ruby (and Hanami too!) I’m just tired of interpreted languages (and Python always feels clunky coming from Ruby).

I wish I had the free time to learn Rust or Go, but I would be ecstatic to find a Crystal-based Lemmy server. Maybe when I’m 80 I’ll have the free time to work on that.

Oh totally. I should’ve written “that which people call wasabi.”

It wasn’t just wasabi? That’s my only guess (as someone who loves spicy food and can never get enough wasabi).

Would you consider purchasing an enclosure like what Yottamaster offer? I do this with a Raspberry Pi 4 and it’s perfect.

Otherwise I’m confused. Are you looking for a hub to power that many individual hard drives?

Lol, whatever 😂

Is the stinky tofu or something else?

[–] undefined@lemmy.hogru.ch 3 points 9 months ago

That sounds amazing! I’ve been craving popcorn lately but never learned how to do it sans microwave.

Sometimes I want to learn, sometimes I just need to get something done. Why not be able to do both?

Yeah, I’m not 100% “microwaves are bad.” I actually miss it sometimes because it was easier to make breakfast burritos in bulk then reheat them in the microwave.

But yeah, microwaveable dinners and the like are pretty gross.

I love configuring seemingly small things on Kubernetes (totally not an overblown, obtuse platform to host apps on) that cause my applications to raise strange errors in production. It’s great because the rest of the company is in some weird trance (omg the weekend!) and I get to try to handle resolving it completely on my own.

You should check out this video, it’s very eye-opening when it comes to how microwaves work (only linking to YouTube because I couldn’t find a decent Invidious source): https://youtube.com/watch?v=UiS27feX8o0 (edit: https://materialious.nadeko.net/watch/UiS27feX8o0)

It depends on your model of microwave.

Personally, my wife and I intentionally deprived ourselves of a microwave in the house because we recognized that it makes us more prone to heavily processed foods (we’re not crazy “5G/microwaves give you cancer”people or whatever). We just recognized that we like eating whole foods and having one on hand makes it tempting to start buying a lot of garbage foods.
