The wheel is Open Domain and does not belong to anyone.

It’s certainly simpler and more stable than Matrix though.

Yeah, that was my main thought.

I say "V3", because the new upcoming features, seem to be going in a good direction, to make it usable in the current era.
Chat history, I think I still won't expect from that.

The IRC ecosystem seems to be going on well and will hopefully stay a useful way of communication in the future.

I really like that every event has an id in Matrix though (I don't really know the IRC protocol, maybe that has it too ¯_(ツ)_/¯)

For the Matrix.org thing, I feel like funding just went into the wrong location.
Perhaps Conduit or Construct might have gone better?

how many things do I have to read

Well unfortunately, when using Arch, you will, at some point end up requiring to read a lot of something.

If that makes you hesitate, but you still feel like giving it a try, I'd say one good way is, install Arch using the Arch ISO method and go to https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Installation_guide and read that once before and then, while installing.

  • it is very well simplified (simplified by explanation, not by omission)
  • it has handy links for terminology you will find in there, so you won't have to go around finding stuff all the time
  • open the page on another device, that you like reading on
    • read it like you are trying to understand it and not like instructions
  • while reading/installing it, if you realise you can't keep doing that, you have your answer
  • if you managed to install it before getting frustrated at the Wiki, well, know that most Arch wiki pages you will look at, are as good or better than that and you can consider this as another distro you might use.

I’ve had Arch get borked, but never to an unrecoverable state.

gotta love arch-chroot for that.
No matter what went wrong or how wrong it went, if you have the time, you can find out. And pretty easily too, as long as you keep some logs.

All most people have to do to keep trans people happy, is absolutely nothing.

But some just have to first go Rainbow PR Yay! and then in the same breath, punishing people for being trans.

Just do nothing. Is that too hard?

download your information and leave our services

They did better than Discord, just by adding that link.

Papaya over here. Apples would be too expensive.

I'm still on the starter ship so no combat yet.
I once managed to find a missile launcher that would fit into its specs, but for some reason, was unable to shoot it, so no idea if it was me not understanding the controls or that I missed some parameter (I had replaced the battery with supercapacitors to make space for the launcher), but again, no combat.
That was my first session. I played ~9hrs.

In my second session, I opened the main screen and instead of starting the game, I kept on staring at the compass icon for a while, imagining stuff. Then I quit the game and made this.
~12 hrs (I'm not regular at blender, so had to re-look for all UI stuff)

I am guessing you would have separate mounts for .cache, .local and .config ?

Yeah, everyone (every-app) thinks they are special and deserve a ".place" in ~ because : .

  • ssh because "I'm SSH!", similar for gpg
  • npm because "I'm a package manager"
  • dillo because "I am old and can't be bothered to update my dirs"
    • I guess I should send them a patch. It shouldn't be too hard to make that little change.
  • fltk same as dillo maybe
  • .mozilla : "Oh but I AM special"
  • .bundle : There is literally only 1 subdir in it and it is named "cache". they could have just done "~/.cache/bundle" instead

IDK why you have a .kde in your screenshot. Debian maybe, or a dir remaining from KDE4? I had an old one remaining in Debain after I upgraded.

  • .config
  • .local
  • .cache

These are what we need to stuff everything into.

Welp, guess Netflix and their 720p stream for the price of 4K, wins.

Until he actually had to use it.

Took 2 hours of reading through examples just to deploy the site.
Turns out, it is hard to do even just the bash stuff when you can't see the container.
