True, but primarily, because NATO wants them in a certain spec.

Again, once the US military switche from it, then so will everyone's opinion.

ARs are common because the US military and NATO use them.

Same reason sig Sauer pistols are popular.

Popular is not the same as "superior".

Once the US moves off the AR platform, so will all the gun nuts.

I say this as a former armorer who got to see why ARs might not be the best choice.

Automatic weapons were useful for coal miners to use against the Pinkertons.

I hate guns too.

I own them, and train with them because it's useful to have them ready when needed.

Sweet. Sounds based. Let's do more of this.

Oh, she knows.

That's why she demanded to be allowed to boost troops numbers on the northern border.

Otherwise, it could (and still.does) look like either preparing against an invasion, or readying for an invasion. The former being most likely.

Yes, I know the more troops on the border was the ask of the Mexican president, which made Donold buckle like a belt.

Those troops are to keep Americans out... Not to keep anyone in.

Right, so nothing changed except Mexico has an excuse to boost troops deployments on our border.

Oh, you mean the other plutocratic candidate wellbeing on letting christofascism even take root?

[–] ubergeek@lemmy.today 3 points 6 months ago

No, he plans to send a unilateral conquering and occupation force.

There is a difference.

My point still stands. We don't nor ever have arrested sitting elected reps. And that got us where we are now.

Not arresting sitting elected reps is what got us here, as they believe, and we've proven, they are not bound by laws.
