To anyone reading this, generate a password for your security answer and stick it in your password manager. It’s safer than trying to remember a fake security answer and much safer than using a real security answer.

There are studies showing that short sightedness is caused by focusing on close objects for extended periods of time. They’ve done numerous studies over decades on the increasing cause of it in children and it essentially boils down to the fact that the eye (when viewing close objects) can’t “unblur” the background (everything that is right behind the close thing you’re looking at). Your eye continues to try to do so. This continual struggle actually reshapes your eye, causing myopia, so your eye literally becomes egg shaped. Notably, the rates drastically increased when kids started doing more “near work” (homework) and spending less time outside.

So yes, we do know that.

Here’s a transcript of a podcast that discusses it, with linked citations at the parts it’s discussed at. https://docs.google.com/document/d/e/2PACX-1vRMWnsM8thCF5giSiABkfCFUCxLzjM8PSby1V1Etn4jTavVpcuAwR0wjVhpZ2gLYK3QJUNzRYoiU9_p/pub

Why do you not have an adblocker enabled?

I literally had an argument on here the other day with someone who refuses to believe there is bad science because capitalism is the one causing them to do unethical things. Your response sums up the actual truth of the matter very succinctly. Just because you have an excuse for something doesn’t make it unethical.

Just letting you know, I’m currently without a job due to ethical reasons as well and it’s honestly been great for my health. I understand you might not be in the same position as me, but you do sound like an ethical person. If I were in your shoes I wouldn’t go back, but I’m not you. Only you can make that decision.

You’ve missed their point.

Neat ideas. #6 seems very feasible, as you can essentially make it an infrastructure tax. Government maintains the roads, public transit, sewer systems for massive buildings, high power lines for those buildings, etc., which all needs to be maintained. #2 would be very cool, I’ve wanted to start a company like that for a while, but there aren’t any corporate structures that the government even allows you to make that are regulated in that manner. It really sucks.

They’re implying that the list will be made up to fuck over democrats. Not that it will be a real list with Luigi supporters.

lol my wife literally was the project manager for a hydrogen site in Arizona. No clue where you got your information, but it’s just absolutely incorrect.

Hydrogen does not have to be a byproduct of petroleum production, you can drill just for hydrogen.
