It really does increase the number of people that flirt with you, because it's "safe" to flirt with you.

I took mine off recently and there's this air of "Oh you're single, nevermind."

De facto decriminalization. Coming to a trafficker near you (like, really near you - probably in a hotel within 5 minutes of your house)

It will not let you use basic turns of phrase. Like "turn of phrase" will get autocorrected to something else. And then you have to go back and be like, no, let me type that again so you understand, phone. All the time

4 upvotes, no downvotes, removed by mod and banned. Huh.

Now they want you to pay a secure credit card the privilege of having you as a customer, always with a high annual fee and absurd interest rate, and then after a couple years of bleeding maybe they'll give you actual credit. Meh. If you're above 620 you should qualify for FHA first time buyer's loan, which is honestly one of the few ways to not get fucked right now. We're going to do (housing crisis) indefinitely so even shit property goes up.

I have a ton of people around me that do it, and yep, they're mostly renters who talk about wanting to own but it being unaffordable (we're in a LCOL state), can't do things with their friends because they're broke. I'm not cheap by nature but paying delivery fees to avoid a 10 minute round trip, that would do me good because I'd be out and active for a second - just no. Then I start thinking about how much I really don't need to drive to severely overpay for low quality food that'll harm most parts of my body, and I usually cook something instead out of relatively whole foods which costs 3/4 as much and won't leave me feeling guilt.

Yep. Add to that, they give things short lifespans these days - for instance with cars, many of the cuffs and pumps and moving parts are now plastic because they assume car = 10 years. So the internal quality has gone downhill, it's cheaper than ever to manufacture new, but taking a 10 year old car and replacing every plastic part with another plastic part that will also fail would cost a small fortune... just buy a new car. They very much assume you'll be landfilling and rebuying in no time. Reparability went away when we became a disposable society.

We don't do public health here anymore. Soon RFK will advise babies drink energy drinks.

Just like it says on the tin.

I felt like he started in the tradition of Mr. Wizard, who himself was a teacher who didn't know the intricacies of every science, but knew how to put together a fantastic and accurate demonstration.

But I think Nye is doing talk shows and shit now, which Mr. Wizard, I don't think, would have tried to sell himself the same way. He really sold education.
