In Anna Louise Strong's This Soviet World (which you can find on libgen), she describes how the factory became a hub of life for the Soviet worker, far beyond just a place of work. From how she described it, they were practically small cities, with attached daycare centers for the workers' children, full cafeterias for the workers to eat their meals at, along with classrooms where people could take and organize classes of any subject they wanted, and large meeting spaces to conduct political business.

This BBC documentary from the 90s about GLADIO in Belgium is crazy. It's really crazy to think about to what lengths the people in power would/will go to, and how callous and, frankly, depraved they really are.
(I've also recently been listening to the Hell on Earth mini-series from Matt Christman and Chris Wade, and the ruling class have always been depraved. The horror wrought upon average peasants during the 30 Years' War was absolutely grotesque. That Marx quote about how "capital comes dripping from head to foot, from every pore, with blood and dirt" is really fucking true.)

I'm especially ignorant on cancer medicine, but I do know that Cuba has developed a vaccine that is supposed to prevent a type of lung cancer. My guess would be a similar sort of result here

I like on trueanon when they said it was to "keep the russians out, the germans down, and the americans in"
