ML and AI-type stuff is sick as hell, but the media hype-bullshit and stable diffusion stuff that people use for slop gives it all a bad name. I know people doing really cool research on different types of cancer and cleft palate data using ML approaches, to good effect. Stuff like that should be prioritized and publicized much more. It's a tool like any other.

I'm pretty sure Brian Becker (the host of The Socialist Program) is Ben's dad, so I think this one's different!

The podcast The Socialist Program is run by the same organization as Breakthrough News (it's all PSL affiliated). You might enjoy it as well!

-- My mom, smugly watching me fumble with an app on my phone as I try to show her how cool technology is.

Lol I remember this happening in some Florida House seats back in 2020. Fake candidates peeled off enough votes that it probably spoiled the democrat from winning. Really cool and democratic

I've got a couple bluetooth plugs around my house that were given to me. I plug my lamps into them, so I can crawl into bed to read and then turn off the lights without getting up. One of the only cool things IoT has given us, I think.

My pasta sauces are definitely some of my best work in the kitchen, so I’m inclined to agree somewhat, but I just can’t. There’s some pastas I’ve had that blow anything I’ve made out of the water. You just gotta splurge a little

Back during the whole “labor shortage” bs a couple years back, I saw one outside of atlanta that said:

HELP AMERICA WORK
GOTOWORKGOTOWORKGOTOWORK

I so want either a Xiaomi or a Huawei when my current iphone dies. I don't think there's any way around the amerikkka bs though

Yes, typically hybrid or indica-dominant strains of marijuana. I can dig up some receipts if you want more specifics.
Yes, in February 2023. Acute effects lasted roughly 4-5 days, consisting of strong fatigue, fever, coughing, runny nose, body aches. Fever died down in about three days, then the fatigue lasted a little while longer, maybe 14 days all told.

The framing of China and Chinese people as some puzzle or enigma to be figured out and analyzed is so bizarre. Some choice quotes:

The government reported 5.2% growth last year, which — surprise, surprise — was right at the target that they were aiming for. But there are economists that say the economy did not grow that fast. It was probably two or less than 2% even.

Lmao who are these economists? How many say that? Why do they say that? come the fuck on dude.

And while they were on the far side of the moon, their little lander hoisted a Chinese flag, which their media said was a first.

Ok well was it or was it not?? Also the condescension of "their little lander" like this jackass has ever landed anything on the moon.

There is unease with it, [though] when it comes to the government's use of data or collection of data, people are quite practical. There's zero that they can do about it. And so they get on with their lives. As you've seen, you go to any intersection in a city in China and there are 10, 20, 30 video cameras pointing in any given direction and an unknown number of other sensors that can pick up cell phone signals and analyze them.

Dawg, the NSA listens to literally every phone call made in the United States. Google and Zucc know more about me than I do.

There's still some reverence for the U.S. in a way as a country that is, first of all, richer than China on a per capita basis, and secondly, has freedoms that China doesn't have.

Just comical.
