Sometimes it means the page checking the password is following a different ruleset eg. the main page is case sensitive and the change password page isn't. Sometimes it's stuff like the entered password is silently truncated to a fixed number of characters and because of that won't let you log in. Sometimes it's wierd character expansions being passed directly to the password checking routine (& or similar).

They don't seem to realize Reddit isn't that special. It's a forum.. Digg and Slashdot thought they were special too Myspace before that..
They're just where most people are at the moment. That can and likely will change. Whether it's Lemmy or something else entirely.
Then there's wetware (people).
I miss some of the older ones from my college days (1990s).. million logical instructions per second (megalips), and measuring mouse speed in mickeys/pixel.
Looking at what was installed it doesn't look like the normal samsung bloatware. They're both apps by Playtika, who seem to have nothing to do with Samsung. Malware would be my thought too.
They've been claiming this for years, the have form for it..
I went from a 5 to a 7a too and it's not too bad. I had a brief try with a 6.. that's somewhat bigger and actually annoyed me so I returned it. I still think the 5 was the sweet spot for phone size though..
It's fundamental to mastodon.. you can subscribe to hashtags, you can search hashtags, but you can't (usually) search posts directly. That works for the most part, but does limit discoverability slightly.
Groups seem to be the new hotness, though.. there are some 3rd party implementations already but a proper implementation in the core is upcoming: https://joinmastodon.org/roadmap
Federation is the invisible glue that makes it all work.. I have my own server but i can talk to you on lemmy.world without having to think about it or do anything special. Most people joining in the future won't need to care federation even exists, just like they don't care SMTP exists.
That said I suspect there will be a few mega servers anyway.. just like gmail.. people seem to like being where everyone else is.
The police have concluded, finally, that nothing illegal took place.
So it's down to whether people are that bothered that he paid for mucky photos or said not nice things to someone online. I think the latter isn't even going to move the needle.. but the first, could potentially be career ending, depending on the actual details.
I presume they're effectively 0.. those are straight off the statcounter site.
