Last time I tried to tip a delivery driver im the UK they said they can't take it..

Given we pay for delivery though and it's difficult to see what a driver could do above and beyond that isn't just 'doing their job' that's probably a good thing, provided they're getting a decent amount of it.

778-330-2389 if it still works.

There's these too.. The UK one at least doesn't work.

New Zealand (09) 886 0565, Australia +61 (03) 8652 1453, United Kingdom +44 (117) 325 7425 and US +1 (760) 706 7425.

You want your filesystems to be old and stable. It's new filesystems you want to view with suspicion.. not battle tested.

IRC is great, if a little underground these days. It's also trivial to run your own although federating requires cooperation from both ends so it's not quite as networked as lemmy or mastodon.

In Europe the manufacturers are legally bound to quote the WLTP range. Which is hopelessly inaccurate.. But nowhere near as bad as the NEDC that preceded it. Of course people still come on forums wondering why they don't get <50% more than actually possible> out of their car, and I don't blame them.. the law is an ass.

TBF to Tesla though the in-car estimate is (I think) EPA and isn't far off.. It's doable in summer, at least. Winter you'll lose 30% but that's normal for all cars.

I installed gentoo from stage 1 or maybe 2 back in the day... it compiles to compiler to compile the rest of the build process and then compiles the kernel and base... quite fascinating but it took about 3 hours on the hardware I was using.

I think they were experimenting with showing lemmy posts as well.

You always get a boost when Elon does something stupid but I'm not seeing anything unusual about this one.. 'soaring' is relative. Usual is 500-1000 an hour and we're currently at 1500.

On and off.. it's more just a fun thing to program and make better.. the default software is pretty basic.. essentially it's an esp32 with an eink display bolted onto it.

It isn't remotely water resistant - a light rainshower would write it off.

I've got a pinetime coming as well which is much more something that could be used as a daily driver whilst still being hackable.
