Where I come from we call it bribery. And it's super illegal.
Where I live it's the symbol of hating anyone who isn't white. So until someone convinces racists and the Nazi aligned AF party to stop using it, its probably going to be more about racism than solidarity. The wiki page explains it pretty well.
