@anon Reddit is known for bringing deleted comments back, without your consent. That's especially bad for people who also delete the account, because they have no control anymore (I mean even less). Pretty scummy. More people should be aware of this issue.
@JohnEdwa The bots should not even hit the limit, otherwise its a hint for any anti-bot detection. Just create lot of small bots staying low on threshold to be detected. Together with an AI, then the missing bot detection utility and some missing moderators, Reddit should become a bigger pile than it is already.
@Syo That's exactly what I would expect robots who want to steal our jobs would say. It's like someone who wants to steal your credit card info says he don't want to steal your credit card info. That statement alone is sus.
@invno1 I have never moderated a community, but can absolutely see this! They moderated, because they loved the community and understood how to do it well. Maybe there are friends too, who you learn and discuss stuff with over the years. An angry user (like me) can "just" leave without many consequences. But a moderator also feels responsible to its community too. So I can understand those who have a hard time leaving. Maybe there was hope that Reddit will turnaround too.
@sneakyninjapants I know some people complained that Reddit would reinstate all comments that was deleted by hand, every single one. So if you delete your account, maybe Reddit will bring the comments back after some time. I didn't delete my account so far, only logged out and not logged in since. As I'm in the EU, Reddit probably has to provide such an option to download and delete my comments, but I'm not sure. Not going to log in for the moment. I will have this in mind though, thanks for point it out.
