@TugOfWarCrimes I use Shaders on emulators for a while now, but never got into any other. Can Reshade be used with any game? I need to have a look at this program.

@LastoftheDinosaurs There are filters for emulators called "Shaders" which can make games look close to a CRT look and feel. I use RetroArch to emulate games, which has first class support for such Shaders for use with any supported emulator core. If you want, have a look at what is possible with an article I wrote a while back, which has sliders to see a before and after effect: https://thingsiplay.game.blog/2022/03/08/crt-shader-showcase-for-retroarch/

Here a screenshot without and with my favorite Shader called "Royale" and a variant of the Shader that simulates even more characteristics, "Royale NTSC SVideo" :

@laivindil Coming for the same question here! Over the last 2 years when I tried it again and again, it was unplayable due to the cheaters. Those 9 auto aim sniper spin bots we are all dreaming off. People usually recommended me to play custom server from the community. I never got around to try that.

@trynn No, I really meant Star Control. I have no idea how the licensing and IP situation is at the moment. Just brought it up, as I would like to see it coming back, without any idea how realistic it is.

@Galapagon Only if it is linear. I just made a free form out of the blue diagram by hand to demonstrate what I mean:

@cloudsheep0 Good to see you on this platform too. :-) For anyone who don't want to visit Twitter, here is the image

@TurianHammer The Lost Vikings and Rock'n Roll Racing, from a time before Blizzard was named Blizzard. Only dinosaurs will know what I mean. Other ideas Star Control, Hexen, ... and, is Zork still under Activision license? A new vision of such a complex free form text based game with AI could be fun, but also frustrating probably.

@buycurious Yes. The comparison does not make sense in any way, other than being successful.

@waterhouse You are right, good point. That's actually "Lore Accurate". :D lol Realistic != Lore Accurate
