Yup, I have a few folders of classical music on an old hard drive that I can't delete in Windows because the name is too long. I just haven't bothered connecting them to Linux yet.

It's more likely that the agent chose the wrong option.

It's more likely because the client didn't specify a different dispo code, either because they forgot or because they don't care enough to make things that granular. If the client doesn't ask for it, it doesn't get included.

Or, the more likely option, the agent just chose the wrong option.

I feel bad for The Onion. Reality is so insane it must be hard to come up with stuff to beat it.

Like, this could have been a CNN article and I wouldn't have thought twice about it.

I mean, there basically is, but it's usually just factored it into something like gas taxes instead of having a specific line item for it. Since EVs don't pay that tax, there needs to be a separate one somewhere.

Shameless plug for Home Assistant, here. Everything is controlled locally (unless you pay for their internet pass through service which is basically just a relay), most brands of smart devices are supported, you have extreme customization capabilities, and it's all open source.

Plus, it can run on pretty much anything.

Having smart devices isn't dumb, but you have to implement them properly.

It's dumb to hand control of your smart home over to a 3rd party, though.

Go Home Assistant. They're getting closer to having an offline voice assistant too, so soon you won't need to use rhasspy or another open source solution.

I'm in the process of developing a whole home HAL9000 system.

It's not inherently a bad thing. If you're making $1m /y in revenue, you can afford to pay licensing fees.

Because testosterone is a hell of a drug and men, in general, are way hornier than women.

Because continuous growth each quarter is totally sustainable long term!

My favorite was when I had been waiting 8 hours for a response on a Microsoft support ticket, so I decided to call.

I spent 6.5h on hold before giving up, but I had to chuckle at the, "for faster support, fill out a ticket," message that played every 5 minutes.

But I think Walgreens wins for the most rage inducing IVR.
