No duh. I don't care if a few people got slammed into the ceiling

I care that two planes almost collided and killed everyone

Why even consider the seat belts? They're not the real issue here

Nah, she'll be fine because she's going to lie. They're already laundering her reputation

It's going to be very funny

At any time, you can expect at least 2-6 people out of their seats if the fasten seatbelts sign isn't on. But I don't really care about that part, shit happens

Planes shouldn't be dodging each other in the first place... That's the actual problem here. I don't blame the pilot either, they avoided a collision, so as far as I'm concerned they did what they had to do

The situation itself never should have happened

LMAO they're totally trying to launder her, and it's so wild and so transparent

I can't wait to see what she's going to say. It's going to be an interesting story, trying to weave everything together

I don't even know if this helps them, they probably make more money on more expensive options

I think they're just pro-cancer

I doubt it, they set up a bunch of storylines. The episode is barely about Trump, most of it is how we're responding to this new reality

Parker and Stone have always been counter culture centrists... But from global warming to increasingly obvious political shifts, they just had nothing to say and seemed to realize maybe they're not as smart as they thought

They didn't talk about Trump 45 or MAGA much because they want to cynically sit back and make fun of wokeness and caricature bigots. They want Cartman to be a source of shock value, and they want Stan to be their honest take of an honest person trying their best to make sense of the world

But now people are identifying with Cartman openly. The episode was not subtle about that. Things have gotten out of control... Stan's arc was about Jesus being forced down his throat, he doesn't really have a problem with Jesus, he's just really weirded out.

The Trump bait was supposedly added late in production based on Paramount firing Colbert, they signed a $1.5 billion deal with paramount two days before airing and they want to blow up the merger. They didn't like how skydance leadership was already pressuring them, and they don't like the idea of censorship in general... That all was a fuck you, I dare you to cancel us now that real money is on the line

Trump will definitely be a backdrop, but they've finally found something they want to say. And there's just not much to say about Trump...What, are you going to call him a pedo? Are you going to say he smells? Are you going to say he's cheating at golf while his handlers do an ethnic cleansing?

There's just no room for satire with Trump, and I don't think they can bait a reaction much harder than they did this episode

Which time? In January or in Trump's last term?

[–] theneverfox@pawb.social 2 points 1 week ago (5 children)

Yeah, but people are still going to be using the bathrooms and such, even if you assume everyone actually obeys the rules

Well, language is a living thing. In my experience, the meaning of that word has shifted over the past couple decades

Fact-oid means something like malformed fact, but we no longer use this suffix much because it's offensive. So the suffix kinda lost it's meaning in everyday language, which makes this kind of flip common... There's a word for this kind of drift, but I don't remember it

Factoids are true things, just simplified down to the point they're easily digestible without context

He was doing really well before he met Trump in the white house for the first time. He was still an idiot, and apparently a Nazi, but he was very quiet about being a Nazi, and he was good at getting people excited for electric cars and space travel

And I think it's worse than that. I've got insurance, but I can't afford to use it, so what even is that? I've stitched myself up at home plenty of times, you can heal from most things with first aid

I'm more worried about the brown shirts. I'll heal or I'll die, but I do not want to be locked in a cage... I'd rather just die
