It really does. I think it's one of the reasons the fediverse has remained a pretty positive place, without having to deal with all the ugliness all the time.

Don't feed the trolls. Just block them and move on. If you find an entire instance has started hosting bad actors, you can block that instance too.
In the mastodon/Calckey world you can migrate your account on one instance to a new account on a new instance and all the people following you will transfer and automatically follow your new account. So you don't have to be all "Hey moving to [xyz new instance] follow me there!"
That's something that's in the works for kbin and Lemmy some day
Remember to never feed the trolls. Block them and move on.

- Noteless - markdown notetaker. I've mostly moved everything over to Obsidian, but I like my grocery list here still...
Oh that's right she did! I've seen clips of Brennan before and have always wanted to watch, but never wanted another subscribtion... this might make me change my mind.
Not only can this Reddit talk to that Reddit, it can also talk to the various Twitters, and YouTubes. Twitter can also talk to Instagram, Facebooks, and Goodreads, etc. That's the magic of the fediverse!
The problem with porn is that these instances are hosted by individuals who don't want the risk or headache of having questionable content on their server that they may have to answer for when something illegal invariably pops up.
That said, lemmynsfw.com does exist and you can subscribe to content over there. My guess is more will happen over time.
I nuked a 13- and an 11-year old account yesterday after commenting over then deleting each comment. I'm a bit sad, but if I'm honest, I've been wanting a reason to drop reddit for a while now. It just hasn't been the same in a long time. It's still young here, but I like what this has the potential to become rather than what might have been if things were different over there. Ever onward!
What was the mechanism for crossposting?
In kbin, if you turn on the top bar, you can see where you are on the top just after 'Favourites'
Cool! I use coffee all the time and can't imagine cooking without it now.
