This. I use white nail polish so that I can still let some light through. It's a great dimmer.
My wife used to take classes at atxpottery. They fill up quick which means you're looking at winter classes being the earliest. If you're in South Austin, Mud Studio is an option. South Austin studios typically have more openings than North Austin. People have mentioned classes at The Contemporary Austin being great but your mileage may vary.

After 11 years of no TV, we just purchased one so that our 2 year old won't have to stare at a phone screen to watch educational videos. After he leaves for college, I'd be happy to return to a no TV house.
To answer your question, my wife is a lifelong learner. She spends most nights reading or taking courses to further her career. I'm a hobby person - playing instruments, woodworking, 3d printing, electronics, house projects. If we want to watch a new movie, we'll see it in theaters. We don't have time for tv shows. We've never watched The Office, GOT, Breaking Bad, The Wire, etc. which makes for interesting double dates.
The Bible Project did a book on heaven, mainly the old testament view. It has some interesting details that have changed how I understand old testament teaching. The book is free. They have a PDF link on their Amazon page for the physical book.
