Canadian Jews have a safe, democratic country that cherishes them and wants them to thrive and that country is called Canada.

If you're asking about Israeli Jews, your answer is the same in principle as for any other ethno-religious group in the Levant (Druze, Maronite, Sunni, Antiochian, Alawite, Shia, Beduin, Kurdish etc). There is nothing cosmically special or exceptional about Jewish people, as there is nothing cosmically special or exceptional about Alewites. To claim so would be pure antisemitism. So what should they do? Play nice with the other communities, and build a plurinational, inclusive democratic state with equal rights for all people of all and of no sects. The Jews don't deserve anything more or anything less than any other levantine ethnicity/religious group. Human Rights and Democracy for all.

Edit: or some sort of balkanization I guess. Small homegeneous statelets at the mercy of bigger powers. Meh. Democracy is better.

I mean you have to go to down to Hochelaga for that.

Can someone explain to this non-american why the Democrats are treating this as a successful upset when they could have released the Epstein files during Biden?

Funny that when it was about protecting profits copyright was such a cornerstone principle but when it's about protecting profits it can also be set aside.

I know, the EU was also supposed to be the solution to the Cyprus occupation, and that didn't work either.

I'm not saying that the EU itself is the solution, but that the horizon of the EU, or at least something similar (a MEU?) could play that stabilizing role.

Among other problems that it causes, child malnutrition has lifelong impacts on the brain.

Remember this when Israelis do surprised Pikachu faces in 10-15 years when the next October 7th style atrocity happens and they ask like pearl clutching fuckfaces "why do they hate us?". THIS. THIS is why they will hate you deeply and viscerally for the rest of their lives. You literally used reinforcement learning to train them to profoundly hate you.

That's not saying much because the US has always been a bit of a rogue state given their disregard and active disrespect of international law. Trumpist US is even more a rogue state.

Lol, banned from Hungary is a badge of honour. Orban doesn't get to lecture anyone on anything.

Unironically, admitting Israel, Palestine and Lebanon into the European Union might actually be the solution to this whole fucking clusterfuck.

Edit: major major reforms should take place of course, and Israel should dismantle apartheid and pay reparations, while Lebanon should dismantle the sectarian dysfunction of their government, but as a long term horizon this region needs the wildly successful EU model of peaceful pacification more than any other region in the world.

Does Greece has an anti-Semitism problem? Yes, unequivocally. We also have a much bigger Islamophobia problem. Beyond that, the "rankings" are meaningless.

In terms of policy, our government is one that straight up kills migrants at sea and allies itself with a genocidal apartheid regime.

The people taking action here did a good thing. It's people like this that save Greek honour.

The ADL counts opposition to Israel as antisemitism. Any metric based on the IHRA definition is just garbage and propaganda.

Edit: the ADL is worse than "silly". They are enablers of antisemitism so long as the antisemites are pro-Israeli. Zero credibility.

Edit2: you're quoting a list that lists 93% of Palestinians as antisemites. What a fucking sick joke.

It's silly to use the geographical map of Canada to show election results. Land doesn't vote, people do.

Given the rapidly evolving political landscape in the United States and reports of individuals encountering difficulties crossing the border, [the Canadian Association of University Teachers] strongly recommends that academic staff travel to the U.S. only if essential and necessary.
