Holy crap, @BlueSquid0741@lemmy.sdf.org is right about their lack of recyclability. Just think of the plastics garbage volume all our tradies will be generating! 😱

At a cost of $20 USD/EUD, you’d better fucking hope not!

Are we really surprised though?

As much as I ~~think~~ hope the real Paul Levesque may be a relatively decent human being deep down (at least compared to his compatriots), he has proven to have a strong business intellect. He knows who the fanbase is, and where the WWE’s bread is buttered.

This is all part of the marketing HHH has to pull as one of the main faces of post-Vince WWE.

Most refrigerants from ~25 years ago have long since been banned, and the units themselves may not be suitable for use with modern ones.

Unless you’re referring to an evaporative-style cooler, but they’re practically useless in exceptionally hot weather (anything north of like ~33 degrees Celsius).

Fun fact; even though China and Australia both use Type I plugs - they aren’t actually fully cross-compatible, due to differences in the thickness of the metal prongs.

China’s are thinner, so they hang somewhat loose in Australian outlets - and given they are less likely to have insulation around the plug ends, are a relatively common fire risk.m

On the other hand - Australian plugs don’t commonly fit into Chinese wall sockets due to their girth (giggitty), and often require the use of a power board or travel adapter in order to work.

Type I (in Australia, at least) plugs are partially insulated with in order to prevent that from being an issue.

We are the descendants of the UK after all, our nanny-state is almost as strong as the motherland’s!

Somewhat only tangentially related, but I personally would like to see what impact having an age threshold for voting on the top-end.

Like, once you’ve got retirement age — you are no longer eligible to vote.

It would prioritise the will of those most affected by any new laws, and incentivises the older cohort to vote with an eye for the future, as screwing over the next generation would have discernible impact.

While we’re at it, the same thresholds should also apply to eligibility to run for a political position.

Not as relevant as you would think, and actually somewhat common in the industry; Warcraft (the RTS) was developed ahead of asking for a license for the Warhammer franchise. When that deal fell through, it was rejigged to be its own thing and published.

Exactly; increasing the GST would be downright regressive, harming the most vulnerable and will fail to stimulate the economy in any way, shape or form.

Doing so just to pass a tax cut for high-income earners will just further exacerbate the wealth divide we are currently experiencing; wealthy people need to be taxed more, not less - to cover our budgetary deficits, broaden our safety nets and invest in public infrastructure like housing, renewable energy, and faster public transport.

Giving those that have enough even more, is just going to have them park those funds in property, rent-seeking and extracting more wealth from the under-class.

It is so counter-intuitive, I can only think that this was proposed by someone with a fetish for public self-destruction.

Former member of the Liberal Party, before going “independent” in 2021.

Why am I not surprised?

Not sure if anyone else remembers this cartoon from their childhoods; sometimes it feels like it may have all just been a bit of a fever dream given how unhinged the English dub was at times!

This trailer gave me big, warm nostalgic vibes, and it seems like it could look/play somewhat like Cuphead perhaps? I’m cautiously hyped.

What are other obtuse, forgotten media properties that you think are overdue for revival? I’ll start the ball rolling with Tekkaman/Technoman Blade
