I wish I could act so decisively on that, but I still need Reddit access for the wisdom of others on solving issues.

So instead I just make sure I only browse it with Firefox, using uBlock Origin to prevent them from getting ad revenue.

It's a warning sign that the wild Markius Zuckerian species are known for when feeling threatened. It's common to see this phenomenon when its food, commonly referred to as "Advertising Potential", is at risk. The most recent occurrence of this was when its prey learned that its latest trick, the Metaus Threadsian, was seen for what is actually was: a cheap scam.

Acceptable, yet due to the proliferation of Only Fans spam bots, not very realistic

Mine is SOMA. Not necessarily because anything about the gameplay is scary, moreso just because the ending is so... difficult, that it's painful.

Effectively, we're seeing the output of software developers that aren't held back by corporate red tape, Agile development, focusing all resources on monetizing user data, and general office politic bullshit. Quite refreshing, seeing what we're capable of.

Don't know if this is the intended reference, but this pretty much perfectly describes why we use the Polygraph. As covered (and better explained than I can myself) on Adam Ruins Everything https://youtu.be/nyDMoGjKvNk

Maybe I'm missing context, but I'm not seeing the "bald man" image in either of these. I see that avoiding it is the reasoning behind the right one, but I have to say that I feel a greater appeal towards the left image. Just seems more happy and bright (not in color, as they're the same colors, but in mood from the tilt of the head)

That said, I don't mind the right. Just prefer the left.

What, and let people actually live their own lives? What an absurdly level-headed and reasonable idea!

sigh...

I feel like a public comment should be required for Bill signing. I know it isn't. Just at this point, definitely feels like it should be.

I hear what you're saying, and I understand why it's generally a good idea to offer a permalink to the tweet/post/whatever.

That being said, there's been instances (especially with regards to certain politicians on Twitter) where having the screenshot has been paramount, as the original post gets deleted.

So we're left with a few choices as I see it:

  1. Link the original post and be done with it. Risk of the original post being deleted, making your post useless.

  2. Link a screenshot. You could add the link to the original post in the comments

  3. Link an archive version. A great idea, but sets an expectation for the average user to have to copy the link to the post, go to the wayback machine, add a manual snapshot, then make a kbin/Lemmy/whatever post to the archived snapshot
