That's illegal in most European countries.

More than half of Americans reported receiving at least one scam call per day in 2024. To combat the rise of sophisticated conversational scams that deceive victims over the course of a phone call, we introduced Scam Detection late last year to U.S.-based English-speaking Phone by Google public beta users on Pixel phones.

We use AI models processed on-device to analyze conversations in real-time and warn users of potential scams. If a caller, for example, tries to get you to provide payment via gift cards to complete a delivery, Scam Detection will alert you through audio and haptic notifications and display a warning on your phone that the call may be a scam.

These are all shitty companies. But if I can decide, I choose the European shitheads.

Just by loading the image in the DM.

But to be clear. All they get at most is your IP address. That's not worth much alone.

There is a setting that prevents sending the IP address by caching the image. lemmy.world should definitely enable that. They don't do that right now, unfortunately.

I don't really know if I really understand your question but I try to answer:

Do you need these new utensils (ie. are your current ones not usable anymore?) or do you just want new ones.

Anticonsumption is about only buying stuff you really need and/or fulfills your life.

Its not about the utensils, its more the barriers inbetween.

That's why Anticonsumption is so important. Buy much less and you'll see that this is much less of a hurdle.

Another example when trying to buy used items, it is so hard to do this without marketplace.

Buying used items is still consumption.

At least they have their jurisdiction in Europe and not the US. If their investors have the access keys to our data is another question. But they'd need to explicitly mention this in their privacy policy.

We need European providers for popular open source LLMs like Deepseek. Something like openrouter.ai but in Europe.
