That part actually seemed relatively human. It was the follow up questions "how long have you worked here" that just seemed a bit uncanny
My great aunt had 101 Dalmations. Just that film. Every time we visited, we would just sit there for an hour watching it. Over and over. It was great.
It is amazing that. You pour your life and soul into something, taking pride in seeing your work flourish... only for them to slap you in the face like that whilst making it clear that despite the "we're a family, so please do your best" rhetoric, it does not extend both ways.

LA bus transit is amazing. It's cheap, regular, the driver regularly waives you through if you don't have the correct change, and if you're disabled, the driver will get out and strap you down himself to ensure you get to where you need to be.
Coming from UK/Europe perspective, the LA bus system seemed a little dirtier or sketchier than the ones I'm accustomed to... but the service was stellar.
It's pretty versatile, no? The bus can come from either diagonal and go in more ways than a normal stop could.
perhaps even moreso. the variations in dialects when going from village to another can be huge. I would guess that countries homogenized later than WW2
