Complete agreement, it feels like I'm awakening old voting habits from a nicer internet.

Everytime I loomed at my most upvoted comments/submissions on reddit, it would just be populist low effort crap that I wrote.
The meaningful insightful comments that I wrote barely got more than a handful of votes.
The voting system really isn't that indicative of anything in my opinion, other than how willing we are to lower ourselves to pander to the lowest common denominator.
I personally have nothing against the concept of a 'car'. They're the ultimate freedom¹ vehicle that appeal to the anarchist in me; in the sense that you have this mobile device that takes you pretty much anywhere at incredible speed and luxury (radio, heating, cooling, reclinable bed) that is a pinnacle of over a hundred years of engineering.
I do have an axe to grind with cities built around cars. Cities are where people come together to converse, play, trade, and live. They greatly appeal to the communist in me, where people build sustainable democratic communities that thrive on the fruits of everyone's labours. Cars compromise the safety and tranquility of this ideal, and I wish cars were just used outside of cities to get from one town or village to another. Then you go park them outside the city, and walk/cycle/tram to where you want to go in the city.

Yuzu (as well as Ryujin) are incredible Switch emulators you can run on your PC. That sub was a bastion of getting your own "nintendo" system up and running, with a couple of fancy new Zelda releases.
Initially open-sourced? No.
FAANG jumped on the open source bandwagon once they realised they could not complete with the Linux dev ecosystem, and so hastily implemented drivers and other open source tech built on existing FOSS libraries and concepts.
They've contributed a lot, but they built upon existing frameworks pioneered by linux/FSF
Though the developer could not get it to do that in his own testing

In such a large sub such as /r/soccer, there must be multiple fascinating discussions and commentary. But ask yourself: are you actually participating in the discussion, or merely observing it?
Yes you can write a comment somewhere high up and hope to get a reply, but your voice is a drop in a sea of endless fans.
In a smaller community, the discussion might not be so top level, but you are forced to think and actively engage more
You lost me in that middle part. Are there any further resources I can read to understand this better?
Please Sir, tell me why
My life's so pitiful
But the future's so bright?
Well I'd look ahead but it burns my retinas.
