I remember an insufferable vegan guy being a huge fan of the movie, but I didn't notice any dive bar activity in the UK.
Back then Wetherspoons were dingy old depressing pubs full of old men and moulding furniture.
Now they've all gone upmarket and you'd have to fight to find a nice comfortably depressing place to get drunk for under a tenner.
I don't blame the film for that though, just the rising cost of living forcing stay-at-home-barkeepers to reconsider whether it's worth keeping the pub open, or selling to some startup cunt.

To be fair though, you can get same relaxation by doing any mindless task with music.
Hell, one of the highlights of my week is putting on a history podcast and then just cleaning the hell out of the bathroom, bedroom, mopping the floors, etc.
Its a relaxing personal moment where you're lost in your own world, you learn something new, and your apartment looks great at the end.
Overall message is nice, but its deceptive too, where he phrases the violent almost genocidal actions against the Palestinians as the work of a few Israeli extremists... instead of it being the party line of the entire IDF.
These are placating words at worst, but I can sense that he does feel genuinely nervous about public support for Palestine... as he should.

If it's more convenient, then what you're doing isn't wrong. Everyone has different input systems.
Mine is to email myself notes, and to use subject header as tags for later sorting. At some point I will setup an email scraper to automatically flag and parse these into actual todo lists.
But for now an email to myself just keeps me focused, and it just works!
