it may be because you were using the default libre kernel, which is missing lots of microcode for your drivers. You need to add a substitute binary server that points to non-guix, which you can then use to supplant the libre kernel with the mainline one.
We still don't really know what caused the Bronze Age Collapse, just that it happened and that we survived it, though it took several centuries to rebuild. The Fall of Rome happened so slowly that it was nearly invisible. Hell, there are still a few countries out there claiming the "Emporer" title and all are valid successors of the title.

Good enough for me! I'm not looking for a perfect solution, I can work with incomplete products with weak parts, as long as those parts are readily replaceable
