They can use any number of extra libraries and such. Idk I'm not a programmer. But I've certainly tried. Though tbh it's been. A while. Sadly I dual boot just for the games that I mod that require a bunch of external tools to mod. I don't have the time anymore to try and force em. A me problem yes.

Sleep, uninterrupted sleep.

The bad news, for me at least, is yes I can get most games to run fine. Skyrim, cyberpunk, Sims 4 etc. The issue is modding. Sims 4 is excluded from this as you littlery just drop .package files in the mod folder and just works. But games like cyberpunk and Skyrim...you often need external tools/injectors/animation riggers etc for a lot of the 'good stuff's. And getting those tools to work properly can be a nightmare.

This is exactly how I've been doing it. Pihole + Wireguard. Set your pihole device as your DNS on everything ya want. It's shocking how much crap tries phoning home. Especially smart TV's and streaming sticks(Roku ex).

Not only am I ok with it, I loon forward to it. I've only had the chance to play the starter box and a bit of curse of strahd. Both games I was the DM, and the group was my wife, step kid(teenager) and my sister in law.

I don't have the time to get with a normal group of non-existent friends. I've tried and tried to use most of the llms to DM even short adventures for just my self, and it quickly falls apart.

So if they can find tune one for ttrpgs it would be a divine intervention XD

I'm so glad I finally baught premium on nexus tbh. But my account was grandfathered in when they went to me monthly sub.

But it would be nice for free accounts to at least download in parallel even at the cap speed at least. It was years before I upgraded my account,so I know the pain.

If they would just remove access to the AUR it would solve some things. I used it for years before just getting the itch to distro hop. It worked just fine for me, and I only used the AUR for a handful of things. Now, I'll either compile myself or use flatpak if it's not in any normal repo for any distro I land on.

Honestly I'd go with something that supports booting in secure boot mode like fedora or Ubuntu(direct derivatives maybe). And yes, install to am external drive if you plan on having persistence.

I'm a hairy guy. So it doesn't matter. But if I use bar soap, I'll just rub it over the major areas first, then go back and lather. If it's body wash, I just squeeze a pool in my hand, and use my chest hair to create the lather, disperse to rest of body.

This was going to be my suggestion as well. Not sure if it will grab subtitles though.

Speaking from experience, from a long time ago, and from the people/family I've installed it for on older machines: It's different. That's 90% of it.

The people that had little to no windows/PC experience actually took to Linux a lot easier not having to relearn/change habits from windows.

Don't put the devices in their hands until they're older. And even when you do, immediately limit the time from the start. As an IT guy too, it's how I'm doing it. Use an older device without any accounts setup on it. Install fdroid and only get apps from there. Leave it on airplane mode except when wifi is needed (by you).

At this point, my 4yr old gets bored rather quickly with my old phone.
