In order of the amount of time I have. Obviously I prefer making my own from scratch.

Make sure smart is enabled in the bios. Too often I see it flipped off by default.

Sponsor Block is great too, specifically for YouTube. I'd say about ~90% of the creators own plugs are auto skipped. Pretty sure you can whitelist specific channels.
Is it me or has the term remastered been changed to remake/redesigned?
To me it's always meant that its just a visual fidelity and maybe audio updating. The rest of the game mechanics remain. Only extreme bugs should be fixed that would lead to corrupted saves or something.
